PRAYED FOR THE CUSTOMER
Calden saw Stephen Spray, better known as Mr. Steve, was busy cleaning up a table when he approached a woman. Calden shared that the elderly man decided to pray for his customer.
Mr. Steve later expressed that this was something he did often. He said: "I work at a place where if I'm led to pray for someone, I'm able to do that, and I'll do it right on the spot."
HE IS LOVED BY MANY
He is always on the lookout for people who need love, kindness, and a prayer or two. Mr. Steve's attitude has gotten him widespread recognition. People adore how he makes the business feel like a family home.
Calden explained: "As soon as we enter, we are greeted by our names. It's seriously unreal." The photographer decided to share Mr. Steve's kindness with the world.
"STEVE IS THE BEST"
Calden uploaded an image of him praying for the customer on Facebook, and commenters were moved. One user recounted her own experience with the man.
The user said: "Steve is literally the best. We go there every week for a play date, and he is so kind always." Another person called him the "sweetest man ever!!"
GOING THE EXTRA MILE
The post, which was shared over 100 times, was flooded with stories wherein people confirmed Mr. Steve's special character. For Calden, this Chic-fil-A will always be a favorite.
She expressed that all of their employees go the extra mile for customers. Calden said: "The other day, we were leaving, and an employee ran for the door to hug my daughter before she could leave."
DOING WEEKLY VISITS NOW
With Covid restrictions, Mr. Steve's contact with customers was limited recently. However, people still remember him and the special touch he added to their dining experience.
In 2020, the fast-food branch provided netizens with an update on Mr. Steve. They said: "Our honorary team member, Mr. Steve, is still enjoying his weekly visits, but they're looking a little different these days."
HE IS MISSED
Chick-fil-A Oldsmar added that they were very grateful for him and "the light he brings to [their] team!" Commenters reacted and said they missed him.
Another stated that they were glad to hear he was still connected to the branch, albeit less frequently. People hope Mr. Steve will be able to get back to serving customers face-to-face again. Until then, they hold onto the many prayers and memorable encounters they had with him.
