A father and son met each other for the first time in the weirdest way after the younger man dressed up as Buddy the Elf. Let's take a look at what happened during the reunion.

A man identified as Doug Henning, who dressed as an elf to meet his biological father, Raul, for the first time last year, confessed that his dad might have thought he was out of his mind.

Henning, 43, wore the costume as Will Ferrell donned in "Elf." He jumped up and down, singing "I'm here with my dad," just as Ferrell did while playing the character, Buddy.

The only issue was that Henning's dad had not watched the 2003 movie, which his son saw two days before the meeting. As the son continued to bounce around at Boston's Logan Airport, he sang to his perplexed dad:

"I was adopted, but you never knew I was born. And now you found me, and you're here, and guess what: I love you, I love you, I love you!"

Finley, Henning's daughter, who captured the moment on her phone, explained that at some point, she fell on her knees because the sight was amusing, and she couldn't hold her laughter.

But in a short time, the act went from funny to emotional, as Raul eventually grasped the message Henning was passing, and the duo embraced each other.

To aid in his search, Henning turned to Ancestry.com, and an email changed his life forever.

With his arms wrapped around his son, and others whopping in the background, the happy and emotional father exclaimed, "Oh my son, my boy."

After the reunion, Henning revealed that when his father came out of the airport, Raul might have thought he was a lunatic.

However, overall, the son was happy to break the ice in a good way. The father and child sat down as a family for the first time and watched the movie.

Even though Henning had not been in contact with his biological family, he had amazing adoptive parents. However, his quest for knowledge about his background led to the search for his birth family.

To aid in his search, Henning turned to Ancestry.com, and an email changed his life forever. First, the man got help from his cousin, who connected him with his two biological sisters, and then his biological father, who did not know he was born.

The family reconnected over the phone and through zoom, but the pandemic slowed down their chances of seeing one another physically.

So, Henning and his family got tested for Covid-19, and when the results came out negative, Raul decided to fly to Boston to see his son during Thanksgiving 2020.

The reunion was a priceless moment, which would never be forgotten. Henning is the first of Raul's children to become a parent. So, in addition to gaining a son, the older man also became a grandfather.
