Chris Lowell Who Starred in 'How I Met Your Father' Became a Dad in Real Life Last Year

Actor Chris Lowell who portrays Jess on the "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff series with Hilary Duff, welcomed his first child with his partner Kelly Bishe in 2021.

In 2021, Deadline reported that Chris Lowell landed the lead male role in "How I Met Your Father," a spinoff of the widely popular TV show "How I Met Your Mother."

Lowell portrays Jesse, the intelligent but cynical friend of the main character Sophie, played by Hilary Duff, who tells her son how she met his father. Similarly to how Ted Mosby told his children how he met their mother in the original show.

Before landing the recurring role in the Hulu series, Lowell was not a stranger to the entertainment industry. He appeared in a few movies including, "Up In The Air," "The Help," and "Promising Young Woman."

"How I Met Your Father" is not Lowell's first TV show gig. He was a series regular in ABC's "Private Practice," Netflix's "Glow," and in "Veronica Mars," in which he plays Stosh "Piz" Piznarski.

The "Glow" actor grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Unlike many of his friends and siblings, Lowell knew he wanted to be an actor from a young age, as he once explained during an interview with Interview Magazine:

"I was thinking, If I’m an actor I can be an astronaut and a policeman and a firefighter. At the time I was so young that I actually thought actors were all of those things."

Lowell has made his younger self proud with his career thus far. Interestingly enough, Lowell is not only an incredible actor but is also a talented fine art photographer.

He found his passion for photography while filming "Life As We Know It." His character was interested in the skill, but he got the photographer bug after a show's producer gifted him a camera.

Lowell's photography career is as successful as his acting as his photos have featured in several shows. The actor recently stepped up for another job, being a father to his first child, whom he shares with Kelly Bishe.

The couple welcomed their daughter in 2021. However, Lowell only shared the news six months after she was born. It seems he has yet to share photos of his daughter, but he has captured many gorgeous images of Bishe while she was pregnant.
