Melody Thomas Scott Hid Affair with Dad of Her 1st Baby & Tried to Have 'Illusive Boy' with Dad of 2nd
It has been over 40 years since Melody Thomas Scott was cast as Nikki Newman on "The Young and the Restless." Besides promoting her career, the show played a huge role in her personal life.
Melody Thomas shook the world when she appeared on the famous sitcom "The Young and the Restless." Although the show made her a global star, it was not her preferred role.
The 66-year-old revealed that she nearly turned down playing Nikki Newman when her agent told her about it. However, she did not think the show would be exciting for her as she looked forward to appearing in an NBC sitcom.

Nevertheless, her agent assured her that playing "The Young and Restless" would be a career changer. Fortunately, Melody did not only have fun on the show; it became her most memorable work.
Aside from advancing her career, "The Young and the Restless" also affected Scott's personal life. The show set her on the path of motherhood. In addition, it was there she met her husband and father of her daughters.
AFFAIR ON "Y&R"
Scott's years on (Y&R) were not about work. The actress also had romantic episodes, one of which was with her makeup artist Carlos Yeaggy. He developed a quick relationship with Melody during their usual early morning routines.

In her book, "Always Young and Restless: My Life On and Off America's #1 Daytime Drama," Melody detailed her romance with the makeup artist and how it bloomed from a simple casual work relationship.
Melody was full of praise for Yeaggy's skills, calling him one of the few to see her in her natural state as they both had to work on transforming her to Nikki Newman each day.
Things between the duo progressed naturally. According to Melody, it felt great confiding in him, and they enjoyed a great friendship. Although at first, they never went on any date or to the movies, they mostly just talked.
Their first actual date came after Yeaggy asked her to go with him to a picnic. After the first outing, Melody realized that a relationship had developed, and since she was attracted to Yeaggy, she had no problems with it.
However, she wanted it to be kept a secret. The actress did not want to risk gossip or anything else ruining what they shared.
So Melody came up with a code name for her secret lover. She called him Richard in front of her friends as she could not help but talk about the tremendous romantic adventure she was on.

Cast and crew members began to suspect that Melody's mystery man was Richard Kline, shooting a movie not so far from the (Y&R) set. However, in her book, Melody claimed she never met with Kline.
Melody and Yeaggy's relationship grew more substantial, and they later decided to move in together. At this point, they decided to let the cat out of the bag.
They invited their close friend Patti Deeney and shared the big secret. However, by the next day, everyone else knew about it.

FIRST PREGNANCY AND CONCERNS
Melody found out about her first pregnancy in the most dramatic way. Her close friend, Dave Zimmerman, had just learned to read Tarot cards and offered to give her a reading.
The "Secrets" star was always comfortable with the spirit world and agreed. However, Zimmerman's revelation was the shock of her life.
After a few glances at the cards, he told her she was pregnant with a girl. Melody struggled to believe the reading since it came from her friend, who was still a novice in the art of fortune-telling.

Although she laughed it off, Melody had silent concerns. Her period was a week late, and a few days after the reading, she still did not see her period. A visit to the doctor then confirmed her pregnancy.
Melody was shocked about the pregnancy as she and Yeaggy adopted several measures to prevent such a situation. However, she felt having the baby was her fate.
Melody soon grew concerned over how the public would receive her pregnancy news. According to the "Piranha" actress, it was unpopular to have kids without a husband at the time, and she feared it would affect her career.

Surprisingly, her pregnancy was written as part of the storyline. Melody said she had begun to add weight and was obviously pregnant. So, to rescue the situation, the producers made it a part of the story, and it was well-received by fans.
News of her pregnancy later spread outside the set, but thankfully, fans responded with love and care. Melody received several baby gifts and letters without a single hate mail.

ROMANCE WITH EDWARD
Following the end of her romance with Yeaggy, Scott began a relationship with the show's executive producer Edward J. Scott. Things progressed quickly from a working relationship to a full-fledged romance.
Edward was her second husband, but he turned out to be the best of her relationships. The couple has been married since 1985 and shares their daughters. Edward had a daughter from a previous relationship, and theirs is a blended family.

Their biological child came a few months after they tied the knot. Like her first pregnancy, the second was written into the show, and once again, it was a huge success.
Melody and Edward are now grandparents but still have an incredible relationship. They renewed their vows during their 36th anniversary, surrounded by close friends and loved ones.
MEET HER DAUGHTERS
Melody's girls, Jennifer, Alex, and Elizabeth, have pursued a different career path and appear to be succeeding. Jennifer, her stepdaughter and a mom of two worked as a director for "The Bold and Beautiful."
Elizabeth also followed her mother's steps in pursuing an acting career. She played Sarah in season four of "Venice The Series." That was her first foray into the acting world.
Her daughter Alexandra, who she had with the late makeup artist, Yeaggy, started a bridal line in 2010. She named the brand in honor of her father, who also had a makeup outfit. Alex is already making waves and sometimes collaborates with her family.
MEET MELODY SCOTT'S GRANDCHILDREN
The best part of Melody's life is spending time with her five adorable grandchildren. The iconic movie star enjoys the thrill of being surrounded by her little ones.
