Adam Rippon Secretly Tied the Knot on New Year's Eve — Meet His Husband Jussi-Pekka Kajaala
While people worldwide spent New Year's Eve at up-all-night parties, former figure skater Adam Rippon said "I Do" to his fiancé.
Adam Rippon and now husband Jussi-Pekka Kajaala married hours before they jumped into the new year. The couple exchanged their vows in a spontaneous secret ceremony, so well guarded that not even his publicist knew about it.
Announcing the news on his Instagram, Rippon says that he and his fiancé-now-husband looked at each other one afternoon and decided to go ahead and get married.

He says it was just the three of them, the couple and their dog, Tony, who they recently adopted. Rippon and Kajaala have had one of the most low-key relationships. And their wedding was just as subtle.
The couple always knew they wanted a simple wedding and explored different options. Rippon says they kept in touch with the California marriage officiant, Maria.
When she told them of an available one o'clock appointment slot, they were soon on their way, where they said their nuptials at Encino, California, which Rippon says is the happiest place on earth. He wrote:
"It was just the three of us, and it was perfect 12/31/21."
MEET KAJAALA
Kajaala, commonly known among his circle as JP, is a real estate broker. He also designs and builds houses. His knack for beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces is breathtaking.
He often posts his work on his Instagram, showing the beautiful spaces, including patios, living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms that he creates.
THE BEGINNING
According to a close friend of Ripponis, the figure skater and his Finnish husband met on the dating app Tinder. They started talking, but because they both had hectic schedules, they only got to hang out a little initially.
In late March 2018, the pair made their relationship official. Due to the pandemic, the couple did not see much of each other for a long time. When the chance came to fly out to Finland, Rippon jumped at it.
The "Dancing With The Stars" alum says he spent two months with Kajaala. According to his Instagram post, they would drive to the Finnish forest where Kajaala was building a cottage. Rippon would help him shovel the snow as his then-boyfriend worked.
Between their fun time and binge-watching "The Crown," the two realized they wanted to spend their lives together. They bought themselves some rings and proposed to each other.
