'It's Crazy to Me': Mom Gives Birth to Twins in Two Different Years
While the rest of the United States enjoyed their time dancing, singing, and celebrating the upcoming New Year, one woman was in the delivery room -- rather than counting down the seconds until midnight; she was counting contractions.
As the clock ticked nearer to 00:00 o'clock on the last day of 2021, Fatima Madrigal and her husband Robert Trujillo were about to meet their new babies.
Their family and three siblings-to-be, one boy and two girls were beyond excited to meet the two up-and-coming adorable additions to the clan.

A NEW YEAR'S SURPRISE
The mother from California is well-rehearsed in the birthing process. But, she was shocked when her fraternal twins decided to make their way into this world. Doctor Ana Abril Arias commented:
"This was definitely one of the most memorable deliveries of my career."
The duo was born on two different dates -- Alfredo at 23:45 on December 31, 2021, and his sister 15 minutes behind him at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2022.
A MIND-BLOWN MOMMY
The mother was glad to have healthy twins, with Alfredo weighing 6 lbs 1 oz and Aylin coming in at 5 lbs 14 oz. Speaking about the curious timing of their birth, Madrigal expressed:
"It's crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays."
The mom revealed that she was also incredibly surprised when she found out about her babies' different days of birth.
TIME TO PARTY
Wrapped up in red and blue striped blankets with matching beanies -- these two babies looked serene with their eyes shut tight -- unware of the beautiful world ahead of them.
As they grow up, every year-end, they and their family will have four celebrations packed into one: New Year's Eve, New Years Day, and two special birthdays.

EMBRACING OUR DIFFERENCES
While this duo defied how we usually think of twins, two fraternal sisters kicked the double trouble rebellion up a notch.
Marcia Millie Madge and Millie Marcia Madge Biggs were born on July 3, 2006. What makes these two beautiful siblings distinct is their skin color.
When born, Marcia had lighter hair and complexion, while her sister showed off much darker tones. Growing up, this difference in skin color was evident; many refused to believe they were related to one another.
However, beyond this disbelief, their mother, Amanda Biggs, and the twins themselves claimed that they had not experienced any racism throughout their lives.
Like Alfredo and Aylin, these two young ladies' differences from other twins make their situation extremely rare. This stunning originality is something they should embrace, and everyone with their unique attributes.
