12-Year-Old Boy Walks Mom Down the Aisle at Her Wedding Just Days before He Passed Away
When a young boy shared his dying wish with his mother, she agreed and enjoyed the bittersweet moment with him. Sadly, he passed away days later.
A 12-year-old boy from Ohio fought a tough fight against a rare form of cancer for six years. He endured rounds of chemotherapy, and doctors did everything they could. Sadly, it was not enough.
When the youngster found out his mother was getting married, he requested one thing. Keith Burkett wanted to walk his mom, Taylor Woodard, down the aisle in 2018.

HER SON'S REQUEST
Woodard was surprised by her son's request. However, she did not think twice before saying yes despite the heartache that she knew would surround the wedding day.
The mother expressed:
"He said, 'Well momma I would like to walk you down the aisle before I die,' and then I was like you know what we're making it happen."
IT WAS EMOTIONAL
The emotional day meant the world to Burkett, who was living in a hospice home at the time. Granting him the special wish made Woodard's heart happy, and she slept soundly, knowing she had honored his desire.
In a clip posted online, viewers saw how the youngster was wheeled down the aisle before his mom stopped and planted a kiss on his head. It was a moment that Woodard would never forget.
HE PASSED AWAY
A few days after the ceremony, Burkett passed away, and the heartbroken mother shared that she did not know how she would live without her son. However, she was glad that his suffering was over.
Woodard added:
"A piece of me will forever be gone. I promise you baby I'll do my best! We love you so much baby!! RIP MY KEIFY!"
THE ONLINE REACTION
Netizens showered the family with love and condolences. One user wrote: "Prayers of comfort for you and your family. It is here we feel pain and cry. So thankful for every moment you had with your beautiful son."
Another added: "I still have a pic of Keith up on my French memo board at school and one by my jewelry dish. I think of him daily. I sure miss his sweet smile."
ANOTHER EMOTIONAL WALK DOWN THE AISLE
Sadly another child passed away from cancer in 2016. One-year-old Poppy-Mai of Thetford, England, was battling devastating cancer, and doctors eventually told her parents she did not have much time left.
Her dad, Andy Barnard, did something special. He organized a "wedding day" for his daughter so that he would be able to walk her down the aisle.
The emotional father carried his princess into the ceremony—it was a moment he would always treasure. Poppy-Mai and Burkett's stories moved the online community. In their short time on Earth, they both left a lasting legacy.
