Todd Chrisley’s ‘Perfect’ Daughter Once Accused Him of Attempted Extortion Yet He Promised to Always Love Her
Todd Chrisley has not always had the best relationship with his daughter Lindsie Chrisley, but he maintains his love for her. Get inside their father-daughter relationship.
American television personality Todd Chrisley has been married twice. His first marriage was to Teresa Terry in 1990, and their divorce was finalized in 1996.
Todd and Terry shared two kids, his eldest daughter Lindsie Chrisley and son Kyle Chrisley. Lindsey and Kyle witnessed their parents' divorce when they were little. Todd also impacted Lindsie and Kyle's families when they were grown up and became estranged from them.

After leaving her dad's show "Chrisley Knows Best," Lindsie divorced the father of her daughter. Get all the details of Todd and his estranged daughter Lindsie's relationship and their possible reunion following a public feud.
HOW FATHER AND KIDS BECAME ESTRANGED
In May 2014, Terry spoke exclusively to Daily Mail for the first time since her split from Todd. Terry said Todd had a sincere love for his kids during the interview.
Terry spoke about when Todd moved to California after signing a custody agreement with her that said their kids would school in Atlanta.

She believed that move was motivated by spite, and Kyle and Lindsie were old enough to say what they wanted at the time. She revealed: "Lindsie wanted to go with her father, Kyle didn't, but we didn't want to split them up."
Terry and Todd had multiple issues after their split, and their kids suffered because of it, with Kyle being the hardest hit. Terry explained:
"Lindsie has always been her dad's idea of the perfect child – apart from when she eloped with her husband, Will, who Todd does not like."

On the other hand, Kyle had always been punished for everything through the years. In October 2014, Kyle, who previously battled drug and alcohol addiction, accused his father of shutting him out of his daughter, Chloe's life and ruthlessly kicked him out of "Chrisley Knows Best."
TODD'S FEUD WITH LINDSIE
Lindsie left "Chrisley Knows Best" in 2017 and has been estranged from her dad and family since then. In September 2017, Todd posted a cryptic tweet seemingly targeted at Lindsie. He tweeted:
"Like mother like daughter, once a cheater always a cheater, once a liar always a liar. #truthmaycostyouyourchild #itscomingout #glovesoff."
In 2019, she was accused of turning in Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley to authorities for alleged tax evasion. However, Lindsie's attorneys denied these accusations.
In August 2019, Lindsie denied any involvement in the charges brought against her dad and stepmom in a statement via her lawyer.
After Todd's indictment for tax evasion, Lindsie filed a police report in July 2019 claiming that her dad and brother Chase Chrisley were harassing her.
She also alleged that they threatened to release an adult tape if she did not lie about a particular incident. However, Todd denied his daughter's allegations, saying:
"It's heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public. We have tried to keep Lindsie's extramarital relationships with Robby Hayes and Josh Murray private..."
Continuing, Todd wondered why Lindsie ran to the police to accuse Chase of buying an adult tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie.
Todd also spoke about Lindsie's comments that he is not her father in an episode of his and Julie's podcast, "Chrisley Confessions."
However, Lindsie's lawyer, Musa Ghanayem, was not surprised by Todd's response. Josh Murray also responded to Todd's claims, saying:
"Lindsie and I have been friends for years. I know Todd and his family are going through some tough times right now and I pray everything works out in their favor."
Murray advised Todd and his family to focus on avoiding getting jailed for 30 years over their tax evasion case rather than spreading gossip to hurt Lindsie. He added:
"I truly believe they are good people and I wish them the best in however they choose to go about their actions."
Meanwhile, Lindsie had more to say during an interview with Dr. Phil in October 2019. She claimed Todd accused her of having an affair with a Georgia Department of Revenue official investigating him for tax evasion and other financial crimes.
Lindsie claimed her dad asked her multiple times if she had met an individual at Starbucks he believed was part of the investigation, but she denied meeting the said person. She also denied being a whistleblower that tipped off the federal government about her family.
At the moment, there are no reports of any reconciliation between Lindsie and her family.
LINDSIE'S DIVORCE
Todd's claims that Lindsie engaged in extramarital affairs with Hayes and Murray came three years after she announced her decision to divorce her husband, Will Campbell.
In August 2016, Lindsie explained that she and Campbell grew apart in an exclusive interview with People. She said:
"He was my first love. We got together when we were 19 years old, and over time we grew separately in different directions instead of together."
Lindsie said she felt like she had become more independent and had come more into herself. However, she also said she was more confident with herself and did not feel the relationship gave her what she needed anymore.
Lindsie concluded that she had outgrown the relationship and hoped that she and Campbell could be great friends in the future. She also said:
"He still holds a special place in my heart. I still love him, always and forever. I have nothing negative to say."
Lindsie and Campbell, who tied the knot in January 2012, share a son named Jackson, who they welcomed in the same year they married. The mother of one said she and Campbell were not fighting and added:
"Unfortunately it is what it is, and we truly just want to come together and make it the best situation for our child and families and move forward with our lives."
Despite Lindsie's decision to divorce, she and Campbell eventually reconciled and got back together. However, the couple split in July 2021 after nine years of marriage.
Lindsie shared the news of their split via Instagram. She said they would maintain the most tremendous respect and love for each other and were grateful for their time together.
She also said they would remain friends and be devoted parents to their son, Jackson, for whom they have so much love.
Following Lindsie's announcement of her split from Campbell, her dad made a post on social media where he said he was praying for her and expressed his love for her. He also stated his resolve to protect her and be there for her.
However, Lindsie expressed shock over her father's comments. She noted that Todd had blocked her on Instagram. Hence, she did not see his post, which made it more confusing why he would share something so personal in a public space.
Lindsie and Campbell finalized their divorce in October 2021. People obtained a copy of their divorce settlement which showed they had divided or sold their assets and lived separately.
The document also showed the former couple arranged for joint custody of their son, Jackson, and had no alimony or spousal support arrangement.
LINDSIE AND TODD'S POSSIBLE RECONCILIATION
Todd's relationship with the two children he shares with Terry has left much to be desired. However, the real estate mogul eventually reconciled with his son Kyle and is now in a good place with him.
Still, the possibility of a reconciliation with his oldest daughter Lindsie does not seem forthcoming. Despite all his issues with Lindsie, Todd has always expressed his love for Lindsie and willingness to be there for her.
In 2019, when he reacted to her claim that he and Chase threatened and harassed her over an adult tape, Todd noted: "Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter, and we will always love her."
However, while Todd seemingly holds out an olive branch for peace between him, his family, and Lindsie, she does not think reconciliation is possible.
During an interview with ET in September 2021, she said she only communicates with her family when she responds to something they said about her in public. She added:
"There will never be a reconciliation. I think that the most that anyone could ask for at this point is for everyone to go on with their lives as they see fit and to just leave the other side alone."
Lindsie said at this point there is no chance for reconciliation and added that she would continue responding to any allegations about her.
Back in 2019, Lindsie was open to reconciling with her dad but said it would be under the condition that she would not be a member of the cast of the family's show.
Her lawyer also noted that if she received a genuine, heartfelt invitation to reconnect, she would be open to doing so.
At the moment, there are no reports of any reconciliation between Lindsie and her family. However, many fans hope they can eventually settle their differences and come back together. Only time will tell if that will ever happen.
