When a teacher found a stray dog, they became best friends. The canine was used to their routine and waited for him every day. Sadly the teacher passed away, leaving behind a heartbroken dog.

When a video of a dog desperately scratching on a door started circulating online in 2019, netizens wanted to know more about him and his story.

His name was Buboy, and he was looking for his human friend, 58-year-old professor Carmelito Marcelo. He taught at a school in Pampanga, Philippines, and students noticed that he fed Buboy regularly and did so for about two years.

THE DOG WAITED EVERY DAY

The dog became accustomed to the routine and grew close to the teacher. Sadly, Marcelo suffered a stroke and passed away, leaving behind his furry friend.

A FINAL GOODBYE

Buboy didn't know he would never see his human friend again, and the students felt sorry for him. They knew they needed to help the dog and decided to take him to their local church.

Buboy was given a chance to say goodbye to Marcelo. The teacher's body was kept in an open coffin, and when the dog saw him, he instantly started to whimper.

THE DOG WAS MOURNFUL

He rested next to the front end of the casket and mourned Marcelo. One of the students, Mark Christian Arceo, shared that it was difficult to watch the dog's behavior.

After seeing that Marcelo was dead, the dog was sad, but at least he knew where his best friend was and what happened to him. Buboy would also hopefully stop waiting for Marcelo to return to school.

A DOG'S LOVE

Arceo also took photos of the dog alongside Marcelo's coffin, and they quickly went viral. He shared the images along with a quote by Josh Billings.

It read: "A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself." Per Arceo, the staff at the college and the students have been providing for the dog and were in the process of finding him a new home.

ANOTHER DOG SEPARATED FROM HIS OWNER

Sadly, animals don't always understand when their owners abandon them due to death or because they have no other option. A 12-year-old boy named Andres made a devastating decision in 2020.

His father was violent, and he worried about his puppy. Andres put himself second and did what was best for the dog even though it broke his heart. He dropped his fluffy friend off at a shelter with a letter asking that the dog be cared for.

It was not easy, but it was for the best. Pets form close bonds with their owners and miss them when they are gone. Hopefully, these animals will find new loving homes after parting with their best friends.
