Cafe Worker Notices Girl Talking to a Suspicious Man, Hands Her Coffee Cup with a Note on It

A few days ago, Brandy Roberson, the mother of an 18-year-old high school girl, praised some Texas Starbucks workers for helping her daughter and giving her confidence when bothered by a man she did not know.

In a now-private Facebook post shared on February 18, 2022, the grateful mother gave a detailed explanation of how a barista's handwritten note helped her daughter avoid a potentially dangerous situation. Here's the whole story.

THE EMPLOYEE OFFERS TO HELP THE TEENAGER

In the post, Roberson revealed that her daughter was studying by herself at a Starbucks in Corpus Christi when a man displaying some strange behavior approached the girl and began talking to her loudly.

According to the woman, the employees at the store thought the girl was in danger and grew concerned and stepped in to help.

So, a barista handed the 18-year-old girl "an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up." Surprisingly, the cup of hot chocolate was not an ordinary one. Instead, it had a handwritten note attached to it that read:

"Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup."

At first, the girl was surprised, but when she turned, she noticed all the employees were staring at her, and she understood what was happening. Roberson told Today Food that her daughter was in control of the situation and did not see the need to take the lid off.

Within minutes, the stranger noticed the conversation between the girl and the employees and walked away. The teenager then went home, and immediately, she opened up to her mom about what had happened.

Roberson said the news warmed her heart, and after seeing the cup with the note, she was grateful that someone could be so kind.

As a mother, Roberson's worst fear was that something terrible would happen to her daughter, and nobody would be around to intervene. But at that point, the reverse was the case, and the woman remained grateful to the employees for looking out for her daughter.

After Roberson shared the Facebook post, it went viral and garnered over 90,000 likes. The thankful mom said she was unaware that her story would break the internet. Instead, she wanted to express appreciation for the workers' kindness towards her daughter. Roberson told Today:

"I am incredibly grateful to the staff there. I hope that we can all learn from them and be willing to help anyone who seems that they might need help."

Although the story has opened the eyes of the public to the thoughtfulness of some local workers, it also serves as an eye-opener to other people working in various offices. Watchfulness, thoughtfulness, and kindness are very important.
