Sharon Osbourne Stayed with Ozzy Despite 'a Lot' of His Infidelities — They Have Been Married for 39 Years Now
Sharon Osbourne stuck by her husband Ozzy throughout all the ups and downs they've faced, including his years of infidelity. Now, the couple is celebrating almost four decades together.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne's marriage wasn't always smooth sailing. They had to face a lot of ups and downs but somehow managed to overcome all the hurdles they were challenged with. Now, they are nearing their 40th wedding anniversary and are stronger than ever.
The Osbournes once decided to separate after Sharon could no longer take her husband's excessive alcoholism. This issue was coupled with her finding out that Ozzy also had extramarital affairs.

Despite their separation, the celebrity couple eventually got back together and renewed their wedding vows to clarify their steadfast commitment to one another and their children.
Ozzy Osbourne is music royalty after fronting the metal band Black Sabbath for years before embarking on a solo career that led to even more success. He was plagued with substance abuse problems that affected his work and home life throughout his music career.
Sharon was first introduced to the limelight as the wife of one of the world's most famous rockstars. She and the rest of her family gained widespread fame after their reality series "The Osbournes" aired in 2002, which was the beginning of her successful hosting career.
FROM TERRIFYING 1ST MEETING TO LAVISH WEDDING
Sharon met Ozzy when she was only 18 years old. She was working as a receptionist for her father, Don Arden, who had just taken the metal band named Black Sabbath under his wing.
Sharon recalls her first meeting with Ozzy, admitting it was not love at first sight. "Ozzy walked into my father's office without shoes, with a water faucet dangling from his neck, and sat on the floor. I was terrified," she once said.
Ozzy took notice of Sharon immediately as well, describing her as a classy woman he thought was impressive. However, Ozzy was married to his then-wife Thelma, with whom he had two children. They divorced in 1981, and he wed Sharon a year later.
The road to their wedding was not smooth. Ozzy and Sharon would frequently fight, which led to them having five different engagement rings. Talking about it, she revealed:
“Every time Ozzy would ask me to marry him, we’d have an argument and I’d throw the damn ring out the window.”
In the end, she only accepted his proposal after they spent two days searching for a $10,000 diamond in the gardens of a hotel.
OPPOSITES REALLY DO ATTRACT
Many think Sharon and Ozzy are a match made in heaven, but the two admit they couldn't be more opposite. "We hardly agree on anything," the rockstar once said during an interview.
While Ozzy would rather kick back and relax on slow days and live a life of rock and roll on others, he shares his wife likes "really sloppy things." Sharon enjoys socializing, going to the opera, and watching sentimental movies.
Meanwhile, Sharon describes being married to the musician as "living with several different people." She admits Ozzy can be sweet and loving one day and cold the next. "I never know what I'm going to wake up with," she said.
Sharon knew of Ozzy's eccentric style and lifestyle ever since they met, but up until now, she continues struggling to accept these. She hates her husband's tattoos and admits most of their disagreements arise from his excessive drinking.
On top of all that, she also disapproves of his habitual smoking and does not tolerate drug use. Although there are many things she'd change about her husband's lifestyle, she's learned to accept it, especially now that they've learned to deal with it better.
THEY ALMOST SEPARATED FOR GOOD
Ozzy's lifestyle was only the tip of the iceberg. The couple also previously struggled with domestic violence issues, which almost caused their ultimate separation.
In 1989, cops were called after Sharon pressed the "panic button" on the table near where they had an argument that led to Ozzy spending a night in jail.
Following the incident, he entered a treatment facility for half a year, while Sharon simultaneously evaluated whether or not she would file for divorce. In the end, Sharon stuck by Ozzy after realizing she "hated being without him."
Years later, in 2013, Sharon debunked rumors that she and Ozzy were getting a divorce due to his drug addiction relapse. Opening up about the incident on her talk show "The Talk," she admitted that the information circulating in tabloids was distorted.
However, just three years after debunking the rumors, Ozzy and Sharon announced they were splitting up. It was revealed that the ex-couple agreed that Ozzy would move out of their home and that the split had nothing to do with his drug use.

During that time, Ozzy's ex-mistress, Michelle Pugh, opened up about their four-year affair, claiming the musician gave her the "greatest love" of her life. Meanwhile, Ozzy insisted their relationship was physical, resulting from his sex addiction.
In a statement, Ozzy's representative apologized to Pugh and the other women he had sexual relationships with. He also wrote that Ozzy has been undergoing therapy to rid him of his addictions.
STARTING OVER & GIVING MARRIAGE ANOTHER SHOT
Months after announcing their split, Ozzy and Sharon began hanging out again. They were spotted out in Los Angeles, which marked the first time they were seen in a non-professional environment since their separation.
In the end, Sharon reflected on their marriage and realized it was difficult for her to let go of someone she spent most of her life with. She chose to stay with him, as she and Ozzy built their lives together, and they work together as well.
Although he cheated on her, she was confident that Ozzy had no emotional attachment to his mistresses, claiming if she felt like he did, she would have called off their marriage entirely.
Sharon also reflected on the part she played in his infidelity, asking herself, "What was my part in this? How have I been in the last few years with my partner? Have I given him emotional support? Have I boosted his ego?"
Admittedly, Sharon said she fell short, as she had been working a lot in the past couple of years, leading to their split and his bouts with different women. However, she decided to forgive him, admitting she couldn't think of a life without her husband.

Likewise, Ozzy spoke out about his infidelity and apologized for what he did to his wife. Opening up about his faults, he said:
"I got my reality check and I’m lucky she didn’t leave me. I was pissed off with myself. But I broke her heart.”
To show their commitment to one another, they renewed their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in 2017. Ozzy admitted to feeling "refreshed" after the ceremony, knowing how much his wife loves him and how much he loves her.
Their almost forty-year marriage is filled with moments worthy of being in a movie. Because of this, Sony Pictures is creating a feature film on the Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne love story, which was first announced in October 2021.
The film is to be produced by Sharon and her children Jack and Aimee are producing the film through their label Osbourne Media, in cooperation with a couple of other agencies. Sharon and Ozzy are also parents to Kelly, best known for being a celebrity like her parents.
Aside from their three children, Sharon and Ozzy are "fur parents" to several dogs. The "The Talk" co-host even joked that they're losing count of the number of pets they have at home, making it all the more fun in the Osbourne residence.
