As a child, it's difficult to understand death. One 2-year-old had to face that one of the most important people in his life was gone forever for no rhyme or reason. What would his mom say?

A father's love cannot be measured but is shown through his everyday actions. Feeding, clothing, and showing their children they love them are examples.

In some extreme cases, a dad has to go above and beyond to protect his kids. One father, or hero, put his life on the line for his son and wife.

THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE

On February 26, 2022, 42-year-old Jemmy "Jimmy" Chavarria was strolling across a crosswalk with his 2-year-old boy Zion and wife Angelica Chavarria. Suddenly, tragedy struck.

Angelica has chosen to show compassion even while suffering through deep grief and pain.

A speeding vehicle headed toward the three, and the father pushed them out of the way. This brave decision saved the life of his spouse and child. The car hit him, and "Jimmy" was officially declared dead at a local hospital.

WHERE IS DAD?

Following the incident, an emotional Angelica opened up about how it had affected her and her little boy. Speaking to the unidentified driver, the mother expressed:

"My 2-year-old asks for his daddy, and I don't know what to say to him. You took his daddy away from him."

The grieving mom also stated that her dead husband's unconditional love was evident by his sacrifice for her and Zion.

AND SO THE SEARCH BEGINS

Local law enforcement is on the hunt for this suspect who was, assuming from a surveillance video, driving a light-colored sedan.

They are offering $50,000 to anyone who can give them information that will help find the individual responsible for this crime.

A GOLDEN HEART

Angelica has chosen to show compassion, even while suffering through deep grief and pain. The widow said:

"I forgive you. I forgive you, but you have to pay for what you did."

If you were in the same position as Angelica, would you be able to show the culprit some sympathy? Or, would you refuse to forgive someone who had hurt you and your family on such a fundamental level?

AN IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE

As the late and heroic "Jimmy" showed us, parents do not think twice about putting their children before themselves.

One mother sacrificed her life for her kid, although she was not conscious when she did so. Instead, the father, Frederick Connie, was the one who decided that she would die rather than let their child pass away.

The lead-up to this difficult decision occurred when his now late wife, Keyvonne Connie, began hemorrhaging two months before the baby was due.

Sadly, the lone dad had to decide whether his wife or child should live at the hospital. Knowing Keyvonne would never forgive him if he let their baby die, he chose to let her go.

While we all hear platitudes about how parents genuinely love their kids, these stories show us that they are more than just empty words. They are based on a beautiful and yet sometimes bittersweet reality.
