Shy Kid Misses Bus Stop – Despite Pleas, Entitled School Bus Driver Refuses to Take Kid Home
When a sixth-grader hopped onto the school bus after a tiring day at school, he sat on his seat and slept after a few minutes. Upon waking up, he realized the bus had crossed his stop.
The boy panicked, and he didn't know what to do next. He decided to wait for the bus to head back to the school before he could inform the bus driver that he had missed his stop.
However, when the bus started its journey back to school, the boy realized the driver had taken another route. He stood up from his seat and walked towards the man, maintaining his balance in the moving bus. Since he was shy, he had to think twice before informing the driver that he had missed his stop.

The boy shared that the bus driver didn't know him much because he never took the bus going to school. Thus, he felt the driver knew the other students better and remembered where they got off. But he never expected the driver's reaction when he told him his problem.
It was a snowy afternoon, and all the students were clad with multiple layers of clothing. The little boy quickly hopped on the bus, looking forward to playing his new video game.

The boy rested his head on the glass window with his backpack beside him and dozed off. When he woke up, he realized he had missed his stop.
He had no idea how he would walk back home if his parents didn't come to pick him up.
Feeling indecisive about whether or not he should inform the driver about it, he decided to stay quiet until the bus took the same route back to school. He planned on getting off at his stop on the way back.

However, the bus driver took a different route back to school. After realizing the bus wouldn't be passing by his stop, he got up from his seat and walked towards the driver.
Afraid that his mother would be angry if he arrived home late, the boy told the bus driver that he had missed his stop.
"What?! Why did you miss your stop? Is this a joke, or is there something wrong with you? What happened?" the bus driver yelled.

The boy knew the driver would scold him if he told him why he had missed his stop, so he just asked him if he could drop him home. The driver refused, saying he had to take his son to a basketball game. His son was also on the bus.
The man asked the boy to call his parents to pick him up, and when the boy said he didn't have a phone, the son giggled and took his phone out of his pocket.
"May I use your phone?" the terrified boy asked. This was his last hope to get back home. He had no idea how he would walk back home if his parents didn't come to pick him up.

"No!" yelled the son and hugged his phone tightly. Meanwhile, the driver separated the boy from his son and asked the latter to hide the phone.
"You can go inside the school and call from there," the bus driver said. After losing all hope of getting off his stop, the boy returned to his seat. He knew the bus was only going to stop in school.
As soon as they arrived at the school gate, he got off. Unfortunately, the gate was locked. When he realized the school was empty, he turned back towards the bus, but it was too late. The bus driver had driven off with his son.

Stranded outside his school in the cold, the boy had no other option except to walk three miles in the snow. When he reached home, he lied to his mother that he had stopped at a nearby shop on his way home. He felt this was a better excuse because he knew she would be angry if she found out he had fallen asleep on the bus.
Later, the boy posted his story on Reddit to share how the bus driver treated him. "Was the bus driver punished at all?" Redditor Whitetiger789 asked. The boy replied that he hadn't heard of the man getting punished.
"Pretty sure that's a lawsuit and potentially criminal charges," Redditor yorakkeith replied. The Redditor was shocked because the child could get hypothermia or frostbite while walking in the snow.

Redditor FriedrichAndre was equally shocked to know how irresponsible the bus driver was. The Redditor asked the boy if it was too late to file a complaint against him. The boy replied:
"Years too late sadly, It would be weird if I brought it up, and they might not even remember it."
Most Redditors were concerned for OP and believed it was the bus driver's responsibility to ensure that the students reached home safely.

Questions to Ponder:
Do you think the child should have told his mother the truth?
Had the boy told the truth to his mother, she might have reported the bus driver to the school for his negligence. But since his mother never knew that the man had abandoned her son, he got away with it. What are your thoughts on this?
Do you think the bus driver had set a bad example for his son?
