Man Discovers He Is the Father of 19 Children He Didn't Know Existed
Advanced medical techniques have helped people start families for many years. Couples often utilize egg and sperm donations, and one man was blown away when he came face to face with a string of kids he helped create.
Many couples struggle to conceive, so they look to other avenues to help make their dreams of starting a family a reality. It can be a painful and stressful journey for mothers and fathers alike.
But thanks to the willingness of ordinary citizens, men and women can become parents despite the personal challenges they might have faced. Artist, Michael Rubino was one such ordinary citizen—he helped people who struggled to have kids.

HE WAS AVAILABLE TO THEM
When Rubino was in his 30s, he signed up to be a sperm donor. He didn't give the decision too much thought, and he certainly never imagined how his actions would influence his life years later.
While most donors opted to stay anonymous, Rubino had a different desire which led to him receiving communication from children scattered across the world.
He shared:
"I want to put [a letter] in my file, just so that we're clear on this, if any kids turn up at any time I'm available. I was looking forward to it."

HE ONLY EXPECTED TO MEET A FEW KIDS
When Rubino's kids started reaching out to him, he responded instantly. Their communication wasn't what shocked him—it was the magnitude of children he found out about.
Rubino never imagined he would have such a big family. He explained:
"I knew when I was a donor, I sort of expected I might, if I'm very lucky, meet two or three [kids]."
