People frequently say that having kids is not easy, but music star Halsey gave that phrase a new meaning after being diagnosed with multiple diseases following her pregnancy.

On July 14, 2021, Halsey and Alev Aydin welcomed their son, Ender Ridley Aydin. Motherhood forever changed the singer's life, but in ways nobody expected.

Halsey was hospitalized for anaphylaxis a few times in the months following Ender's birth. After running tests and going to the doctor several times, she received multiple diagnoses.

HALSEY'S AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES

The "Without Me" singer revealed that her health changed with her pregnancy as she started getting "really sick" and became allergic to "literally everything."

Eventually, doctors diagnosed her with four different syndromes: Ehlers-Danlos, Sjögren, mast cell activation, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

In short, the conditions affect her connective tissues, salivary and lachrymal glands (causing dryness of the mouth and eyes), blood circulation (causing increased heart rate), and allergic reactions.

Halsey clarified that she didn't just get sick because of her pregnancy. Instead, she dealt with undiagnosed autoimmune diseases for most of her life.

Although her pregnancy exacerbated them, Halsey is "celebrating" because her previously unknown medical issues finally got a name. Speaking of her baby, who is the father?

WHO IS ALEV AYDIN, THE FATHER OF HALSEY'S BABY?

Halsey's partner is Alev Aydin. He might not be as famous as Halsey, but he is also a talented, multi-hyphenated artist. Alev is a screenwriter, director, producer, and actor known for "Turbo and Joey," "Small Shots," and "HipMen: Los Angeles."

Alev and Halsey have understandably kept most details of their relationship under wraps. However, people have speculated that they are engaged after spotting them wearing rings on their ring fingers.

[Halsey] explained why she disliked talking about Alev in public.

The couple made headlines in June 2020 for getting matching tattoos on their feet. Alev, who is Turkish, got the word "seeds" inked on the top of his foot in Halsey's handwriting. The singer got the same tattoo (in Alev's handwriting) closer to her heel.

Halsey's boyfriend has also been outspoken about racial injustice. Following George Floyd's death, he took to Instagram to criticize organizations that have "dismantled Black communities for generations."

HOW DID HALSEY AND ALEV MEET?

One of the first times Ender's parents were spotted together was in March 2019, when they attended a Los Angeles Lakers game.

Halsey and Alev kept their romance away from the spotlight until their Seeds tattoos made headlines in June 2020. In January 2021, they announced Halsey's pregnancy, proving that their relationship was stronger than ever.

The "Eastside" singer explained why she disliked talking about Alev in public: she signed up to give her entire life away, but her loved ones didn't. Halsey added that her fans were not entitled to know who she dated, how serious their relationship was, or their plans as a couple.

Still, she admitted they had been good friends for four years before giving love a try, and they waited that long to date because she "liked him so much." What a lovely family!
