Keanu Reeves and his girlfriend Alexandra Grant left fans swooning as they walked the red carpet during a rare public appearance together. As the actor's love life blossoms, fans' curiosity about his late girlfriend also grows.

The "Matrix Resurrections" actor graced the recent 2022 MOCA Gala in Los Angeles alongside his artist girlfriend. The loved-up couple looked happy together as they held hands and smiled affectionately at each other.

Reeves and Grant, who started as friends and collaborators, revealed their romance to the world in November 2019 when they made their red carpet debut at the LACMA Art + Film Gala presented by Gucci in L.A.

Nearly two decades before his relationship with Grant, Reeves suffered a devastating loss. On April 2, 2001, his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Syme perished in a tragic car crash. She was 28.

Syme had come from a party at the home of Marilyn Manson. Another party guest drove her home shortly before dawn, but she later left her home, reportedly to return to Manson's home.

More than a year before the tragedy, Syme gave birth to her baby daughter with Reeves. But their daughter, named Ava Archer Syme-Reeves, was stillborn, which reportedly led to Syme's depression.

Reeves and Syme, who met and fell in love at a promotional party for his alternative rock band Dogstar, were together from 1998 to 2000. They never married but lived together happily.

However, with the loss of their child hanging over their relationship, the "Point Break" actor and Syme parted ways weeks later. Little did the actor know she would also be gone from his life several months later.

He once opened up about her death, saying he struggled to cope with it. The actor appeared to have tapped into his real-life grief to portray his famous John Wick character, who also lost his wife.

Reeves is now dating Grant, his close friend, since 2011. The duo went public with their relationship in 2019 at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles, which was attended by several celebrities such as Naomi Campbell and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Since debuting their relationship to the public, Grant and Reeves graced more red carpet events together. They attended Saint Laurent's fashion show and the MOCA Benefit event.

Grant said in a 2020 Vogue interview she had mixed emotions when they made their relationship public. For his part, Reeves reportedly wants to share his life with her openly, and he's grateful to have her in his life.

The "John Wick" actor and the 49-year-old visual artist collaborated on several art projects, including Reeves's 2011 art book "Ode to Happiness" and 2016 "Shadows." Besides being artistic and spiritual, Grant is entrepreneurial.

In 2017, Grant and Reeves also founded a publishing company called X Artists Books. The couple's company publishes high-quality, artist-centered books that fit within and between genres.

Interestingly, Grant lived in several cities and different countries. For most of her childhood, she lived in Spain and later lived in France and Mexico before settling down in Los Angeles in 1995.
