Nick Viall rose to fame as a contestant in "The Bachelorette" and "The Bachelor." He later got engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi on the show but broke up with her. Viall is now in a happy relationship with a woman outside Bachelor Nation.

Nick Viall recently became a guest on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast and discussed his time in "The Bachelor" franchise.

Viall, who appeared on four of the franchise's shows, was also asked how he dealt with critics amidst taping and how he handled it.

"The show has done better," he said, referring to the support offered to contestants coping with mental health issues. However, Viall and those in his generation were not given the same support when it came to dealing with the critics.

The 41-year-old also revealed his life in the dating scene, particularly when his girlfriend, Natalie Joy, entered the picture.

Dating speculations began in June 2020, when "Almost Famous" podcast host, Ashley Iaconetti, suggested that Viall was dating someone outside the Bachelor Nation. However, Viall and Joy did not make their relationship public until after a few months.

"I have an idea, but if he hasn't said anything about who it is, then I'm not saying anything," Iaconetti said, as Us Weekly reported.

It wasn't until January 2021 that the pair became Instagram official. Joy shared an Instagram story where she tried to kiss Viall while he played a virtual reality game. Several other couple photos surfaced on the internet in the weeks after.

The following month, the pair made their red carpet debut at the Golden Globes, where the television personality hosted the official preshow.

Months later, Viall revealed that his conscious choice to date someone outside the Bachelor Nation stemmed from his split from Vanessa Grimaldi. He said, as told by Us Weekly:

"[I] made a conscious decision to not in any way, shape or form, romantically or otherwise, be involved with anyone from Bachelor Nation."

Many contestants joined "The Bachelor" franchise, but Viall remains one of the most recognized faces. He was first introduced to the show as a suitor of "The Bachelorette" in 2014.

Although he did not receive the final rose, he returned as a contestant on the same show for Kaitlyn Bristowe's season. Sadly, he met the same fate. Still not giving up, he joined "Bachelor in Paradise" before starring in the 21st season of "The Bachelor."

Viall fell in love with contestant Grimaldi during his season, but their relationship ended soon after. Although he left reality television's dating scene, Viall still appears on "The Bachelor" franchise every now and then.
