Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke’s Relationship — Inside the ‘GOT’ Stars’ Friendship

Many of actor Jason Momoa's fans were crushed when he and his wife, Lisa Bonet, announced their divorce earlier this year. The couple's love for one another was admirable.

Despite Momoa and Bonet's divorce, fans recalled the "Aquaman" actor's adoring relationship with actress Emilia Clarke. Momoa and Clarke played Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen, respectively, in the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones."

Momoa has been linked to many female celebrities, but Clarke stood out among the ladies. Observant fans have put together some clues suggesting something is going on between Momoa and Clarke.

In 2019, Momoa surprised Clarke on the set of "The Graham Norton Show" and revealed to TV host Graham Norton that he meets the 35-year-old English actress every time he visits London.

Beaming widely, Clarke agreed with Momoa's statement. The "Dune" actor also revealed to Norton that meeting her in England has been some kind of a routine since they began shooting "Game of Thrones" in 2011.

Aside from Clarke and Momoa, the famous series stars Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey. The acclaimed series ran for eight seasons.

Clarke previously described the day she met Momoa for the first time. She explained that when she arrived exhausted at the hotel in Belfast, she heard him call her "wifey."

Clarke said the 42-year-old actor picked her up and tackled her like a rugby player. Clarke started to ask him who he was only after Momoa put her down.

Since meeting Momoa, Clarke knew their friendship was going to last. Whenever the dynamic duo gets reunited, they share sweet and delightful Instagram photos of themselves hugging or cuddling one another.

In an October 2015 Instagram snap taken during Paris Fashion Week, Clarke was found sitting on Momoa's lap. She giggled with her eyes closed as the "Baywatch" star laughed at her.

Meanwhile, fans found another photo of Momoa and Clarke on Instagram in August 2021. Again, Clarke sat on Momoa's lap in the image. The two are smiling broadly. Momoa's heartfelt caption read:

Clarke had nothing but profound admiration for Momoa. She was just 23 when the "Game of Thrones" series started shooting, and she felt nervous about recording revealing scenes.

She said Momoa was beside her when she suffered from aneurysms while shooting the popular series.

She said Momoa helped her get through the intimate scenes by checking in on her between takes. In between takes, Momoa would quickly call someone to get Clarke a bathrobe so she could be covered up.

Clarke praised Momoa for being so kind and considerate to her. She noted that the "Sweet Girl" actor helped her through the difficult times on set.

Momoa was not only kind to Clarke on set, but he was also sympathetic to her health issues. Clarke previously experienced two aneurysms while filming "Game of Thrones."

Clarke revealed her health struggles in a compelling piece published in The New Yorker in 2019. She shared that Momoa was beside her when she suffered from her illness while shooting the popular series.

Meanwhile, Momoa confirmed that he was there for a long time during Clarke's ordeal with her condition. At that time, he said he felt sad that she had to go through rough moments. However, the situation strengthened their friendship. Momoa said:

"I've kind of been a part of that whole situation for a very long time, so we've had so many scares and trying to find the right way to come out and help. I'm very sad, because we almost lost her the first time."

Luckily, Clarke managed to recover from her condition. Momoa state that he loves his friend to bits, and he believes that she's going to do great things.

Over the years, Momoa and Clarke have maintained their mutual affection and seem to have grown closer since Momoa's departure from the series.

IS EMILIA CLARKE DATING SOMEBODY?

Clarke and Momoa are simply friends. The "Last Christmas" actress is single and is not dating anybody. Clarke's notable relationship was with film director Charlie McDowell, which ended after a year together in 2019.

Before McDowell, she formerly dated "A Good Day to Die Hard" star Jai Courtney. Clarke also dated "American Dad!" actor Seth MacFarlane in 2012, but the couple called it quits in 2013.

Meanwhile, Momoa called it quits with Bonet in January 2022 after more than a decade together. The former couple share two children: daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13.

Bonet and Momoa are 12 years apart in age. Though fans largely speculated that Bonet and Momoa married in 2007, they did not make their marriage public until 2017.

Momoa has previously addressed his breakup from Bonet, stating that he had a wonderful time with her. He also requested their fans and the media to respect their privacy as they go through their divorce.

The divorce marks Momoa's first while Bonet's second. The "High Fidelity" star was married to rock musician Lenny Kravitz, with whom she shares a daughter, actress Zoe Kravitz.
