Katia Washington Is Following Dad Denzel Washington's Footsteps into Film Production
Katia Washington graduated with a law degree but pursued a career in the entertainment industry like her parents and siblings. Here's what we know about Denzel and Pauletta Washington's eldest daughter.
Born on November 27, 1987, Katia Washington is the eldest daughter of Denzel Washington. In 2010, Katia obtained a law degree from Yale University, although she seems to have detoured from the legal route for now.
Katia seems to have taken after her father and works in film production; she seems to be doing pretty well. Her dad is undoubtedly someone to look up to in the entertainment industry with several years of work experience.
KATIA WASHINGTON IS FOLLOWING IN HER DAD'S FOOTSTEPS
After her studies, Katia pursued a career as a Hollywood producer and worked on several films, such as "Pieces of a Woman," "The Equalizer," and "Assassination Nation." She was also involved in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" in the editorial department.
She is still active as a producer and most recently produced "Fences” in 2016 and "Malcolm & Marie" in 2021, a Netflix series that starred her brother, John David, and Zendaya. According to John, his sister "set the rules for safety" while filming amidst a pandemic. He added:
"Katia Washington did that, and it will have an impact on this industry, and I'm proud of her."

John looks up to Katia and believes she will leave a mark in the industry. "Just the kind of leadership that is possible in movies [and] the movie industry – to inspire people that look like us, not only in front of the screen, but behind the camera as well, and Katia is an example of that," he said of his sibling.
Filming the show was a fun family affair for the Washingtons. According to John, working with the cast and crew was an amazing experience.
KATIA WASHINGTON'S SIBLINGS
Katia is the second eldest of four children. Her brother, John, was born on July 28, 1984, and became an athlete before pursuing his acting career. He is known for his roles in "Ballers," “BlacKkKlansman," “The Old Man & the Gun," and “Love Beats Rhymes."
According to Katia's father, there is no one recipe for the perfect marriage. Each relationship has its good and bad days, but the hard work and commitment they put into it make their union last.
Their younger siblings are twins, Malcolm and Olivia, born on April 10, 1991. Malcolm also joined show business after studying at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked behind the scenes as the director of "Trouble Man," “The Last Bookstore," and “Benny Got Shot." He also produced "North Hollywood" and “Summer of 17."
Meanwhile, his twin, Olivia, works in front of the camera as a professional actress. Following her New York University graduation, Olivia has appeared in “Chicago P.D.," “Mr. Robot," “She’s Gotta Have It," and “Madoff."
KATIA WASHINGTON'S PARENTS
Katia's parents need no introduction. She is the daughter of Denzel and Pauletta Washington, both Hollywood actors. Denzel is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's most famous actors, yet he considers his children his greatest success.

The actor met his bride when neither of them was famous. They loved and supported each other as their careers grew. He married Pauletta in 1983 and shares all of his children with her. They have been together for nearly four decades and are still going stronger than ever. Denzel said:
"She taught me about faith, spirituality, love: real love, unwavering love. In spite of myself, I would not be alive without Pauletta Washington. I wouldn't be alive. My wife is a child prodigy."
