"A lot of disagreements and issues came up in our lives that somehow drove us apart."

After having one child, the couple thought having another kid would fix their marriage. Little did they know that having two children instead of one would only add to their list of disagreements.

THE FATHER'S FEELINGS

Having two children meant Roger had to work harder to fulfill their needs. He was working a job he disliked because he had no other way to make ends meet. He confessed:

"If I could go back in time, I wouldn't choose fatherhood again. For me, it's not the fulfilling experience everyone claims it to be."

Roger felt his sacrifices for his kids weren't "worth it." Although he loved his children and could do anything for them, he thought he was happier before embracing fatherhood. Roger hadn't revealed his feelings to his wife until he got into an argument with her.

THE LIFE-CHANGING FIGHT

One day, Roger unexpectedly got into a fight with his wife, who he had known for fifteen years. During their argument, Nicole discovered Roger's true feelings about becoming a father. Roger revealed:

"She was furious, and today I heard her telling our kids (4 and 7 years old) that I wished they had never been born."

Roger said what Nicole told their children was true, but he still loved them and didn't want to hurt their feelings. Meanwhile, Nicole refused to talk to him after knowing how he felt.

ASKING FOR ADVICE

Feeling helpless, Roger turned to the internet for advice to fix his marriage. He didn't want to lose his wife or children, and at the same time, he couldn't hide his feelings from them anymore.

After Roger shared his problem with the online publication Bright Side, they gave him some helpful advice to make his relationship work. First, they assured him he did the right thing by venting his feelings because doing so would make him feel relieved.

The experts also suggested Roger gently explain to his wife why he felt unhappy after having children while reminding her that he still loved his kids.

SOLVING HIS PROBLEM

Since Roger said he was unhappy with his job, the team suggested he look for another job. They also motivated him to learn new skills and switch his career to something he enjoyed doing.

The experts asked Roger to frequently take his wife out on a date to make things work between them. Spending time together without children would remind them how much they loved each other.

Lastly, the experts thought Roger should take some time out for himself. They advised him to pursue the hobbies he had before having children because doing so would positively impact his mental well-being.
