Director of Nursing Home Takes Pretty Old Lady to His Office Every Night, Other Women Are Jealous — Story of the Day

"Yes, that's me. This way, please," he replied, leading them inside.

Once they were outside Mr. Collins's office, the lead cop, Officer Johnson, knocked on the door. "Police here! Please open the door!"

"Oh dear, what's happening? I was just trying on Mr. Collins' beauty products, officer," Margaret interjected as she approached the door.

"What?" The officer was bewildered.

"He and his wife are planning to open a beauty parlor," Margaret explained. "And they plan to donate the proceeds to the nursing home. His skin care products are designed for older women. Mr. Collins insisted I be his first client! You see, officer, I am the most charming lady here, after all…." she added, smiling.

As Margaret said that, Jeffrey regretted what he'd done, and Officer Johnson was fuming in rage. "Is this all a joke? You think you guys can play around with the police?"

"Oh no, I'm so sorry…." Jeffrey apologized. "I shouldn't have done this. I was worried about Margaret because I like her, and those ladies said inappropriate things…."

Jeffrey spilled everything about how much he loved Margaret and how he wanted to propose to her. He said he was misguided by rumors from other women and ended up reporting the incident out of insecurity.

While what Jeffrey had done was wrong, Mr. Collins forgave him. "And you thought Magaret and I are having an affair?" he laughed. "I'm sorry, officers. Please head home safely. I apologize on behalf of my staff."

When everyone was gone, Mr. Collins patted Jeffrey's shoulder and said, "I feel bad that you didn't talk to me about it before reporting the incident, Jeffrey, but because you've been a good employee, I'll let you slide. Be careful in the future."

"Sorry, sorry again…." he apologized as Mr. Collins left.

Margaret had never felt the same way about Jeffrey as he did about her, but something clicked in her heart that day, and she began spending time with him at the nursing home.
