Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick Wed 34 Years Ago & Now Live on Farm without Kids — Inside Their Tranquil Home
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been married for a long time. Together they built a beautiful family and have lived together happily. However, they faced a new challenge when their children got older. They took solace in their home in a quiet location.
Sedgwick and Bacon have been happily married for almost 35 years and share two beautiful children. Their children are Travis and Sosie, both adults living in their own homes. Being empty nesters has not been daunting for the happy couple, though.
The pair has said in the past that they have a lovely marriage that has outlasted many others in Hollywood because they fiercely support each other. They are not competitive with one another.

When talking about his relationship with his wife, Bacon said they recognized one another's strengths and celebrated them. He shared that they believed in each other in every pursuit of their lives.
Now that their children are grown and have left the couple's home, they face the challenge of being empty-nesters. Initially, Sedgwick was heartbroken when her children moved out of their family home.
She shared her thoughts on her children beginning their own homes after she dedicated much of her life to them. She said:
"It's weird, and it's hard. I'm grateful to have adult children now, but I think initially, it's like, 'Wait, what are you talking about? I birthed you, and I took care of you your whole life, and now you're leaving me!' It felt wrong."
However, it was not long before the couple found a way to cope with their empty-nest syndrome. They have settled down on their farm in Connecticut, where they spend time relaxing when they are not working on various projects.
The Couple's Farm In Connecticut Is Their Solace
Bacon bought the farm in 1983. He said it happened by chance, but the farm had become something important to the family ever since. Sedgwick didn't like the idea of staying in Connecticut, but Bacon convinced her. He shared:
"I came for a weekend from the city in 1983 and fell in love with Connecticut, bought the farm, and it's been an important place for our family since then."
The home's facade is white with a black tiled roof, with red lawn chairs outside where the couple can enjoy the warm sunshine. Sedgwick posted a sweet photo of her and her mother sitting on the chairs in 2018.
The house also has a lovely porch lined with wooden slats where the family spends time together. However, the porch is not the only enjoyable outdoor space on the family's farm.
The garden on either side of their porch is beautiful and lush, with greenery such as small shrubs and large trees. When they're not spending time outdoors, the family gathers to spend time in their living room.
The room is fitted with an ornate black fireplace, anchored with a painting of a beach scene above it. There is also a beautiful rug on the floor, which can be seen in a video that Bacon posted on Instagram.
The family also has a large kitchen with tiled floors and granite countertops. Their cabinets are all white with silver finishes, and they have an island where their stovetop is situated. There is also a small table in the kitchen.
The front door of the home is beautiful as well. The French doors lead straight up from the porch and look out over the fantastic garden. They are painted white, beautifully complimented by the hardwood floors.
The couple also has a red barn on the property that Bacon enjoys tending to. In the barn, Bacon keeps goats that he sometimes sings to as he plays guitar. The barn is situated in an ample, open space on the farm.
Also, the couple's swimming pool and mini orchard are ample space on the farm. The swimming pool is decorated with a rock that acts as a diving board, and the orchard is fenced off just behind the swimming pool.
Sedgwick and Bacon Enjoy Farm Life
The couple has become accustomed to farm life, and Bacon even drives around their large property to look after everything. They revealed that they have a few barns on the grounds, and Bacon reaches them by driving a red jeep.
Apart from the goats that Bacon sings to from time to time, the couple also has other animals on their farm. Some other animals include alpacas, which also stay in some of the barns on the property.
However, goats seem to be a theme in the couple's life. Once, for an anniversary, Bacon gifted Sedgwick with two goats. She loved them and named them Macon and Louie. They also have horses on their farm, which the couple enjoys riding together.
The pair use their horses to roam around their expansive property when they are not using the red jeep. Bacon even took to Instagram to share a photo of the couple on their horses, which he captioned "Just us four."
Now that the couple doesn't have their children in the home anymore, they spend their time tending to their animals and showing them love. They even sing to the animals together in the barns.
One post showed Sedgwick and Bacon in the barn where the goats and pygmy horses are kept. Sedgwick held a ukulele while Bacon strummed on the guitar, and together they performed a song for the animals.
They wore warm clothing and sat on a bench outside the barn in the setting sun as goats and horses grazed at what was on the ground near the couple. They sang with smiles on their faces for the duration of the song.
When they are not singing to their farmyard animals, they simply spend time enjoying them. One picture posted on Bacon's Instagram page showed Sedgwick sitting on the playset built for their goats, complete with a slide.
The couple has even given names to each of the animals on the farm. In the photo of Sedgwick on the playset, Bacon mentioned that she was surrounded by four of their goats, whose names were Louie, Macon, Hocus, and Little Man.
Bacon shares a lot of information about his animals and the farm on his social media pages and has even said that they have the power to cheer him up when he is having a bad day. On his TikTok account, he said:
"I don't know about you, but when I feel down, I like to spend time with my animals. They must've known…even Louie wanted some love tonight."
The video shows Bacon outdoors with his goats, where he explains that the goat receiving the back scratches from him is one of his most independent animals, but that night he needed love.
