Chandler Belfort: Inside the Life of ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ Jordan Belfort’s Daughter
Jordan Belfort became a well-known man when Leonardo DiCaprio played him in "The Wolf of Wallstreet." Despite his infamous reputation, Jordan Belfort's daughter, Chandler Belfort, steered clear of the limelight that came with her father's name and led a private life.
Jordan Ross Belfort was born in Queens, New York, on July 9, 1962. He was a stockbroker at an investment firm for two years before he started his trading company, Stratton Oakmont. In 1999, Belfort served twenty-two months of a four-year prison sentence after admitting to money laundering and fraud.
He came to be known for his infamous past after Martin Scorsese's 2013 film "The Wolf of Wall Street," starring Leonardo DiCaprio; Scorsese based the movie on Belfort's memoir of the same name. Belfort was married twice and had two children, a son and his daughter Chandler Belfort.
Who Is Chandler Belfort?
On July 29, 1993, before their split, Belfort and Nadine Caridi welcomed their first child, Chandler; they later had her brother, Carter. Belfort shared a throwback picture of himself and his two children on his social media account with the caption "family first."
The former businessman often shared pictures of his family, showing his close bond with his children. In November 2021, he posted a family picture of Chandler and her husband and Carter at a family dinner celebrating Thanksgiving.
Chandler pursued a career in psychology and became a licensed psychologist in New York. Before enrolling at Muhlenberg College, she went to Vistamar School from 2008 until 2012. In 2016 she earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Muhlenberg College.
Chandler studied at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in 2017. That same year Chandler's partner posted a picture of the two of them out for food and wine to celebrate her acceptance into grad school.
Chandler earned her master's degree in mental health counseling; she was a mental health counseling intern at Berkeley College for ten months before she became a mental health professional at a private practice for over two years.
Chandler did not have much of a social media presence at the time of publication: she didn't have a Twitter account and chose to keep her Instagram page private.
Is Chandler Belfort Married?
In 2021, Chandler married Conor Winter; Winter attended Muhlenberg College too, where he studied Business Marketing and Finance; he played varsity football and lacrosse and was part of the Investment society.
Winter had experience in project coordination and as a video producer; in 2015, he was a Client Services Coordinator at LuMee LLC before he became a project coordinator and then a project manager at The Muse.
Winter proposed to Chandler in December 2019; in an Instagram post, he revealed that they had known each other for over seven years and dated for nearly that long. Winter wrote in his caption:
"I'm so incredibly pleased to be engaged to her."
Winter wrote that he proposed in the home they created together during a Winter family tradition of finding a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree. Winter said he looked forward to spending many more years with Chandler and creating more homes together.
Belfort was one proud father; he shared a picture of a young Chandler smiling with braces alongside her father, who expressed his excitement for her wedding day and added a red heart to his post.
Chandler and Winter wed in September 2021. Winter shared a video on his Instagram with a message dedicated to Chandler, followed by a montage of their time together, including the day Winter proposed. He shared that they had met by chance at Muhlenberg College.
Belfort posted a picture of Chandler on her wedding day, who was no longer a teenager with braces; she was all grown up, wearing a wedding dress and holding a bouquet. In the sweet photograph, her father lovingly gazes at his daughter.
The couple enjoyed spending time together; in 2015, Winter posted a picture of them in New York, followed by a skiing trip to Whiteface Mountain. In 2018, the couple traveled to Iceland together.
Who Is Chandler's Mother, Nadine Caridi, and Where Is She Now?
After remarrying, Nadine changed her last name from Caridi to Macaluso. She became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and years after Margot Robbie played her in "The Wolf of Wallstreet," she used her experience as a therapist to open up about her toxic marriage.
Macaluso revealed that while the film was not inaccurate, it told the story of their marriage from Belfort's perspective and not her own. In a TikTok video, she shared that Belfort would do things such as "love bombing" to win her affection.
Love bombing is when someone tries to gain control over another person by showering them with an overwhelming amount of attention and affection; it is considered a part of a cycle of abuse. Macaluso said:
"That's love bombing, and that's what made me fall so in love with Jordan."
She said the scene in "The Wolf of Wallstreet" where flowers surrounded Margot Robbie was actual; according to Macaluso, Belfort had filled her eight hundred square feet apartment with over a thousand square feet of flowers.
She also confirmed the scene on the yacht to be accurate, where DiCaprio told Robbie they would sail to Monaco for a work matter. Macaluso said the former couple and friends spent "twelve to eighteen hours" on a yacht that almost capsized; the Italian Navy later saved them.
