Morgan Macgregor Is the Writer Who Became Michael C. Hall’s Wife
Morgan MacGregor is an avid reader, a riveting book reviewer, and a novelist who is very clear about her boundaries regarding her work relationships. Although she is the wife of award-winning actor Michael C. Hall, MacGregor keeps her life away from the limelight.
Morgan MacGregor is not shy about her passion for writing and book reviewing, nor how she pursues the profession. MacGregor formerly led her career in Hollywood, Los Angeles, a place she saw as the heart of the film industry bearing an "underdog status" in the literary world. MacGregor appreciated its cliches, but she had her reservations.
Although Michael C. Hall's wife prefers to work in solitude and keeps the details of her life under wraps, she does give her readers small glimpses into her experiences in her book reviews. According to a few outlets, MacGregor has aspirations to be a bookstore owner and has frequently adorned her body with intriguing tattoos.

Morgan Macgregor Is from Canada
Morgan MacGreggor may be the wife of a celebrity, but the writer avoids publicity as very little is known about her life. She also doesn't have any official social media accounts. MacGregor was born and raised in Canada before she relocated to Los Angeles, where she became a writer and book critic.
According to a 2013 Daily Mail issue, the Los Angeles Review of Books hired Macgregor as an associate editor. However, by then, she had left the position to pursue an independent career as a writer, hoping to become a bookstore owner that she would uniquely name "Dead or Alive."
On June 14, 2012, MacGreggor published a review for the book A Revelatory Requiem for a Mentally Ill Friend, where she first began by expressing how complicated the subject of mental illness was for her. She revealed that mental illness ran in her family and has had a personal struggle with mental health.

However, she doesn't go into detail about that part of her life. Later that year, on September 28, MacGreggor was featured in a Book Riot issue where she published a review of an author she favored, Jonathan Franzen. In the beginning, she briefly illustrates her first encounters with his work as an adolescent right up to adulthood.
In the beginning, MacGregor reveals that she first heard of the novelist in 1996 at 13 years old. Her date of birth is unknown, but it may be safe to assume that she was born sometime in 1983. Therefore, as of 2022, the writer is 39 years old.
MacGregor has adorned her body with an array of intriguing tattoos. An unusual piece etched on her shoulder is a simple black and white fence outline of a picket fence. Underneath it is a ribbon with the inscription "Winona Forever," similar to Johnny Depp's old tattoo "Wino Forever," which he marked in honor of his ex-lover, Winona Ryder.

Unfortunately, after dating for about three years, Ryder and Depp ended their relationship in 1993. Following their split, Depp changed "Wino" to "Wine." It can be speculated that MacGregor's ribbon, with Winona's full name, may reference the actress and her former flame.
However, the aspiring bookstore owner has never revealed the meaning she attributed to that piece. On her left forearm, MacGregor has the number "71" inscribed on her left lower forearm and the name "Lolita" in cursive on her wrist.
There are a variety of tattoos on her left hand; a cross on one finger and a boxed stick figure on the other. The phrase "Dead or Alive" seems to hold sentimental value for the novelist as it can also be found etched on her inner left arm.

Morgan Macgregor Does What She Loves
At the beginning of her career, Morgan MacGregor reviewed books including "The Ghost of Books: Past, Present, and Future" and "A Revelatory Requiem for a Mentally Ill Friend" for the LA Review of Books. For Book Riot, she published reviews throughout 2012, including an issue about movies she believed would have been lovely as books.
However, MacGreggor's last review was published in 2012; coincidentally, she began dating her husband, Michael C. Hall, the same year. In 2011, she was invited by The Nervous Breakdown to write on their blog, where she broke down how she positions herself in her work relationships.
MacGregor shared that she preferred to position herself as a fan of the people whose work she was critiquing and found the idea of befriending writers "fundamentally wrong." She feared that befriending writers would compromise her work ethic and explained that a certain degree of "disconnect" was essential between herself and the author.

As a reviewer formerly based in Hollywood, Los Angeles, MacGreggor lamented the demands of social networking often placed on her as she met people in her line of work. Moreover, the conversations never led to a discussion about their shared interest in books and writing, as they would insist on connecting her to other writers and reviewers.
MacGregor prefers the solitude her career affords her. She noted how that preference made her seem "antisocial" and "elitist" when she recounted a story, among a few others, where a writer called her "a cynic" for declining his invitation to a high-profile literary event. Regardless of those opinions, MacGregor will do things her way.

According to The Nervous Breakdown, she nostalgically explained:
"Back in the olden days, literary reviews were Journalism: impartial, objective pieces of literature themselves. Untainted by the churning pressure to draw attention to one's blog [...]reviews were still opinions, sure, but they were virgin opinions."

MacGregor clarified that she didn't believe those standards were no longer being upheld, but where they were not, she attributed their lack to book critics forming friendships with the writers and publishers they review.
Michael C. Hall and Morgan MacGregor Began Dating in 2012
"Dexter" actor Michael C. Hall and Morgan MacGregor announced their relationship when they walked the red carpet together at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards. Following that confirmation was an unprecedented amount of attention from the paparazzi, where they were filmed during their dates.
A month after debuting their relationship, the couple was seen leaving Hennessey + Ingalls in Hollywood. They walked hand-in-hand as Hall carried a bag from the store with a book inside. Hall also visited a tattoo studio that year by himself, where they etched a piece on his foot. That trip was attributed to a "new-found love of life."

The actor had just recovered from a battle with cancer. That same year the couple was also seen leaving the Los Angeles International Airport. In January 2013, the Daily Mail reported that the couple was spotted in Los Angeles, enjoying a lunch date at Cafe Midi, where the lovers were very affectionate.
In 2014, the outlet reported that Hall and MacGregor enjoyed a stroll with their pup in New York. It was winter, and the couple matched dark-cloured bomber jackets while enjoying hot cuppas. That year on December 12, they attended the Breakthrough Prize Inaugural Ceremony at NASA Ames Research Center.
MacGregor and the "Kill Your Darlings" co-star made more public appearances as a couple, attending the "If/Then" Broadway Opening Night at Richard Rodgers Theatre and the Drama Desk Awards at Town Hall.
