Inside Lonzo Ball's Drama with His Baby's Mother

Before the professional basketballer started dating his current girlfriend, he was dating Denise Garcia, a star athlete and now Instagram model and fitness influencer whom he met in high school.

They were in an on-and-off long-term relationship and welcomed their daughter Zoey Christina Ball on July 22, 2018. In December 2018, Lonzo revealed in an episode of the family's show "Ball in the Family" that he and Denise were no longer an item.

Although their relationship was over, Lonzo Ball, whose father is the co-founder of the Big Baller Brand, revealed they were co-parenting well.

After their breakup, Denise revealed she was not getting help from the basketballer because his schedule changed much more than she expected.

She took to her Instagram Live to make videos with her friend. In the first video, she stated that her daughter's favorite song was "Frozen's" "Let It Go." Her friend knew that because she would spend time with her twice weekly.

In a later video, one commenter asked her to blink if the basketballer was a deadbeat dad, and she blinked while laughing. She had also reportedly asked for child support and used her social media to threaten that she would release a tell-all book.

After the video went viral, Denise denied saying that he was a deadbeat and because she was laughing when she blinked, she did not expect people to take her seriously.

The Ball family did not find her post funny, as they expected her to be more mindful, especially as Lonzo was playing for the Lakers then. His brother said he thought she would be more mature than that.

However, she realized she should not have done it and apologized for her actions. She also promised not to do it again and to keep their business private.
