Rodd Elizondo Always Came First for His Father Héctor Elizondo

Rodd Elizondo, Héctor Elizondo's son, was his father's priority. Héctor, who is a celebrated actor, says he dedicated his life to ensuring his son lived a comfortable life. He also revealed that his son taught him to be responsible at a young age.

When Héctor was 20, he had to drop out of college to raise his son. This was after separating from his wife, who he was married to for a year. Rodd's father wanted his son to have a bright future; he sacrificed his education to work in a factory to provide for him.

With the help of his parents and sister, Héctor was able to be a present parent to his only child. Although very little is known about Rodd Elizondo, here are some facts about Héctor Elizondo's son.

Rodd Was Always His Father's No 1 Priority

Rodd Elizondo, Héctor Elizondo's son, was born in the U.S. on September 5, 1956; not much is known about his mother. According to reports, at the time of Rodd's birth, Héctor had just turned 20 and was told to marry Rodd's mom because it was the right thing to do back then.

It pains a parent to bury their child; this was the case for Héctor, whose son's death was a huge blow to his family.

However, their union didn't last as the couple called it quits after one year of marriage. Since Héctor was more financially stable than his ex-wife, he kept the baby and raised him.

At the time, Rodd's dad dreamed of venturing into the acting industry. So, he spent most of his time working in a neon light factory; he would then drive a truck to attend the City College of New York at night. As a young father, Rodd's dad was focused; he dreamed of playing for the Yankees.

After divorcing Rodd's mother, Héctor's parents and sister helped him raise his son. Héctor married for the second time just so that his son would have a complete family; unfortunately, the union did not last.

Rodd Tried an Acting Career like His Dad

Rodd followed in his father's footsteps and once ventured into acting. He had one acting credit on IMDb for the 1963 film ''The Doctors.'' However, he was passionate about teaching and worked as a preschool teacher in San Francisco.

Rodd Left the World before His Father

It pains a parent to bury their children; this was the case for Héctor, whose son's death was a huge blow to his family. Rodd, born in 1956, died on February 24, 2017, aged 61, and was survived by his daughter.

Sometimes, death rumors require in-depth research to measure their legitimacy. In 2021, there were speculations that Rodd's father had passed on. Héctor Elizondo, known for his role in ''Last Man Standing'' was believed to be dead; however, it turned out to be fake news.

The false news spread to the point where some celebrities and fans shared their condolences on Twitter but later deleted the posts. Afterward, somebody working for Héctor's manager confirmed that the actor was alive and in good health. However, it remains unclear where the rumor started and the motive.
