Prinze shared rare memories of how first fell in love with his wife.
Freddie Prince Jr. courted his future wife for years before they eventually started dating. He did everything possible to make her fall in love with him.
Actor Freddie Prince Jr. wooed actress Sarah Michelle Prinze while working together. The pair met while filming the classic movie, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," in 1997.

However, Gellar and Prinze started dating only three years later. He said he prepared meals for her because he wanted to ensure that she was well-fed. The movie star divulged he used to drive Gellar everywhere she went:
"She didn't have a driver's license, so I was her chauffeur, and I would drive her to the gym every day and then go to the store, go get myself some lunch and then drive back."
He recounted that while shooting the film in a small town called South Fork, he drove Sarah to Wilmington daily when they had time off, including when they had to rehearse.
During those trips, Prinze would drive at the required speed limit to get to know the producer. His strategy worked as sparks flew:
"One day, everything clicked, and it was about probably three years later, and we started dating, and she's been my girlfriend ever since."
They Celebrated 20 Years of Love This Year: What Is Their Secret?
The Hollywood couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on September 1, 2022, and commemorated their special day with tributes on social media. Gellar and Prinze posted photos from their 2002 wedding day, including recent ones.
One picture showed the screenwriter kissing his wife's hand, who donned a strapless gown. Meanwhile, Gellar shared several images of her husband on her Instagram Story, with one showing Prinze with his arm wrapped around her and she gazing at him lovingly.
Another photo was of Prinze during an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" before their nuptials. The radio personality had remarked on the program that the couple's marriage would not last.
However, Prinze shut it down and confidently said that it would. When he and Gellar marked their 20th anniversary, she tagged Stern and told him that he owed them.
Despite what appears to be a successful marriage, Gellar's spouse admitted that he does not give people marital advice. Prinze added that his beautiful wife needed him to survive because of his excellent cooking and cleaning skills.
The "She's All That" star noted his hesitance in providing others marriage advice, mainly because what works for him and Gellar might not necessarily be the same for others.
He explained that his mother was a "chef" who taught him how to cook. His wife, on the other hand, is the opposite, leading Prinze to joke that he is essential in Gellar's life:
"I'm necessary. She needs me to live and sustain herself!"
Why Are They Strict with Their Kids?
Prinze and Gellar are parents to daughter Charlotte, whom they welcomed in 2009, and son Rocky who arrived in 2012. In December 2021, the father of two revealed they are beyond "strict" with their brood, joking they have "100" rules set up for them because they know they would not be able to go against them.
Prinze told his kids that family is more important than friends because friendships always end while family "is forever." The A-lister noted that he does not give his children a beating.
He revealed that his mom beat him and called it "preventative whooping." Hence, he now knows how to be stern toward his offspring.
That said, Prinze and Gellar instill specific values in their son and daughter, such as showing kindness to others. The doting mom expressed that it does not matter how bright her children are as long as they are kind-hearted.
The mom of two divulged that in their household, they use the word quite often. Gellar and her husband also teach their kids to be considerate, which is imperative for them as a family of four.
The "All My Children" alum helped home-school Charlotte and Rocky amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but they returned to school. Gellar said she had "mixed" feelings about returning to normalcy but knows that education is important.
