Tia was a dreamer. A big one, indeed. She had grown up reading tales of a handsome prince charming riding with his ladylove on a white horse. She was 21, young, bold, and beautiful, but she believed that was not enough to live the life of her dreams. Money, gold, diamonds, and everything precious to make her life one of a kind was what she always wanted.

Tia desired to settle into a wealthy life and wanted to be constantly pampered with riches. She was a college dropout and managed to live in abundance because of her rich boyfriend, Luke, who she dated for two years. Tia's dream life came to a standstill when Luke suddenly broke up with her.

Afraid this would cost her happiness and the happy-go-lucky life she was looking for, Tia then turned to an online dating app to look for the man of her dreams. One day, she was invited on a blind date by a stranger. With high hopes, Tia agreed and went...

"Hey, I'm here at the café. I don't see you around. You here?" she asked her date, a man named Scott, who admired her ever since getting in touch with her on the dating site.

"Hey, to your right. The table near the window. Over here!" he said and waved at her. Tia's excitement shrunk into despair and an ugly scowl after seeing him for the first time. She approached his table, hoping he was not her date. But to Tia's shock, Scott was the guy, and she could not stand the sight of his poor dressing sense, messy hair, and buck teeth.

You are nobody to judge a person. And you may never know how your judgments can backfire.

"Are you Scott?" she shyly asked him, and when he nodded, Tia laughed at him. "How could you even think a beautiful girl like me would date a man like you? Did you look at yourself in the mirror?"

Scott was embarrassed as people started whispering things, looking at them.

"Tia, stop. Everyone is watching. Please sit down," he politely said.

"Sit with you?? Am I blind or something? Why would I sit with you? Just look at you — is that your grandfather's blazer you're wearing? And you smell awful. What's that cheap perfume you're using? Huh..."

Scott was embarrassed and tried his best to stop Tia, but she wouldn't stop mocking him. She went on and on about his appearance.

"Look how beautiful I am. How could you even think I would date a man like you? Eeew, look at your buck teeth... and your shoes."

Tia felt she had had enough of mocking Scott and stormed out of the café, calling off the date even before it started. Poor Scott was ashamed. He felt sorry for inviting this upon himself and could do nothing more than shrugging it off and smiling at the curious onlookers.

Tia was so disappointed and could not sleep that night. "How dare he invite me on a date after seeing my profile picture? He doesn't even stand a chance... that ugly...." she frowned.

Several days passed, and Tia was not peaceful. She envied whenever couples passed by her and hated wandering the streets she once rode in Luke's expensive car. Her rent was overdue, and her landlord's constant reminders rubbed salt into her wound.

Tia had no choice left and realized she had to do something to earn money. She couldn't approach her single mother for help as she was already furious with her for dropping out of college.

Tia spent several sleepless nights sending her resume to companies, but there was no response due to her lack of experience. Then one day, only one company got in touch with her and invited her to a face-to-face interview for the position of the boss's secretary.

Tia dressed her best and arrived at the company on the day of the interview. There, she met Scott again outside the gate.

"What are you doing here?" she mocked him.

"Look at your rags! Are you a janitor here? Oh, what am I asking you? What else could you be here? THE BOSS? Why am I even talking to you? Back off, I am getting late..."

Tia attended the interview confidently and even made it to the position. She was then taken to the private office to meet the boss.

"Excuse me, Mr. Dawson, the new candidate is here!" the staff said. Tia adjusted her hair, pressed her lips to even out her lipstick, and stood ready to meet the boss face-to-face, wearing her immaculate smile.

"I'll take it from here, Mrs. Phil. Thanks!" said the boss, and Tia quickly recognized that voice. She gasped in shock when the boss turned his rolling chair around and said, "Don't judge people by their looks, Miss...? What did you say your name was?"

Tia could not believe her eyes at seeing Scott.

"Please take your seat. Your interview is not yet over," Scott told Tia. She nervously sat, cursing herself in her mind for bringing this upon herself. She thought Scott would not hire her for everything she told him but was shocked when he told her she was in.

"What? Are you serious?" she exclaimed.

"Yes!! You heard that right," answered Scott.

"My grandpa always told me to date a woman who will not love me for my money. The Scott you saw the other day is who I am. I am rich, but I don't let money define me."

"I admired you initially, not because you were beautiful but because I genuinely liked you. But you failed to win my heart. That's okay. But according to my company policy, we let people in when we have a suitable opportunity. And I am hiring you because I was hoping you could change your opinions of people and be kind to everyone. Beauty is not about being pretty on the outside but about having a pretty soul inside, and you don't have that yet."

Tia was ashamed of herself and could not find a spot to face Scott again. She had no choice but to accept the offer to work for him. She was trapped in her own deeds but gave it her best shot because she realized he was trying to help her.

As days passed, Scott tasked her with overtime and challenging assignments. Once he noticed she had changed and was polite with people, he befriended her. Tia was forever grateful to Scott for transforming her into a better person, and the best part, she stopped judging people.
