Bertie Highmore is the younger brother of "The Good Doctor" star Freddie Highmore. Although they appeared in a film together in their junior years, Bertie chose a different career path, deciding to focus more on business management and finance.

Their parents, Sue Latimer and Edward Highmore, have had long careers in the entertainment industry. They have been involved in wide-ranging productions throughout their careers.

Besides Bertie being the only one not involved in the entertainment business within the family of four, they keep their private lives out of the media. Only Freddie has a public social media presence.

Bertie Is the Youngest Child in a Creative Family

Bertie's parents are both involved in the entertainment industry. His father, Edward, is an actor. He has appeared in several productions, including Elizabeth in 1998, Ali G Indahouse in 2002, and "Arthur and the Invincibles."

His mother, Sue, is primarily a talent manager. Still, she has also been credited as a producer in "Patrick the Pug" in 2018 and "Ahead of the Class" in 2005. Bertie's older brother, Freddie, needs no introduction as his exploits on television have set him in high regard. He has worked on over 40 films, including the hit series, "The Good Doctor."

In his own time, Bertie enjoys soccer. He is an avid supporter of the Arsenal Football Club from the English Premier League. He also plays the game himself, and photos of him in the thick of it are available on his social media. It seems his position of choice is goalkeeper, the last line of defense.

Bertie Played in the Film in His Early Childhood

Bertie is credited as an actor in the 1999 movie, "Women Talking Dirty." The film was set in Edinburgh, Scotland, and follows the improbable development of a friendship between a reserved cartoonist and a candid, dynamic single mom. Gina McKee and Helena Bonham Carter play the two women, respectively.

Bertie has a minor part in the film and is featured in the film as Col, the single mother's second child. Freddie Highmore also made an appearance with the real-life brothers playing fictional brothers.

However, it seems like that was the furthest his interest in the entertainment industry went as he never made another appearance. Instead, he took the path of academics. In 2017, he graduated from The London School of Economics and Political Science, where he studied Management and Finance.

Bertie Has Built a Career in Finance

Bertie attended one of the most prestigious tertiary institutions in the world. While at LSE, he interned at Goldman Sachs in London. After attaining his degree, his first employee was the Susquehanna International Group, a global quantitative trading firm, where he worked for a year.

The business-minded Bertie then worked on the investment team at Blenheim Chalcot between 2018 and 2020. Currently, he works for two companies. The first is called Blue Wire Capital which seeks to support innovation early. He has worked there since 2020 and holds the position of head of investments.

The second is at Creator Fund, a company investing in notable university-based start-ups all over Europe. He has been working as an advisor for two years. Besides his business know-how, Bertie is also multi-lingual, capable of communicating in English, French, and Spanish.

Highmore's Family Prefers to Remain Private

Although they are a family of entertainers, including one world-famous showman, Freddie Highmore, they prefer to keep their private lives away from the media gaze.

Whereas Bertie keeps his Instagram page closed to the public, Freddie is not very active on his social media pages. Currently, his Instagram has no posts for his over 840k followers. The same goes for their parents, who are also not active on social media.

However, on Bertie's Instagram page, there is a link to his celebrity brother's official Instagram account in the description. This suggests that the brothers have a close relationship.

Ultimately, Bertie seems comfortable and content with his non-celebrity status and leaves the fame to his brother. He has thrived in the career path that he has chosen and has excellent potential for future growth due to the solid foundation he has.
