Sharon Stone Shared Happy Family Photos Just Before Tragedy Struck

The actress first posted a cheerful Mother's Day tribute on Instagram on May 10, 2026, sharing several family photos centered around her mother, Dorothy Stone. The images showed candid moments at home, multi-generational family gatherings, and affectionate interactions with loved ones.

But only days later, Sharon shared a far more emotional update. In a new Instagram post, the actress revealed that her oldest brother, Michael "Mike" Stone, had died. Alongside a portrait of her brother, Sharon wrote:

Mike Stone My oldest brother, Has passed away. Following an extended illness. We wish him peace. Sharon, Roan, Laird& Quinn 🥰

Sharon did not share additional details about his illness or the circumstances surrounding his death.

Michael Stone Built His Own Hollywood Career Alongside Sharon Stone

While Sharon built an international career in film and television, Michael also worked in the entertainment industry.

According to his IMDb profile, he appeared in productions including the "Eraser" (1996), "Renaissance Man" (2021), and the television series "The Bold and the Beautiful." He also starred with Sharon in "The Quick and the Dead" (1995).

Michael also received recognition for his work on "Renaissance Man." In 2022, the project earned several awards, including the Oniros Film Awards’ January Monthly Edition prize for Best Experimental Film, the Hollywood Gold Award for Best Original Score, and the Art Film Awards' January Award for Best One Category, shared with filmmaker Walther Neto.

Stone's latest loss comes after she endured another heartbreaking family tragedy in recent years. In 2023, Sharon publicly mourned the death of her younger brother, Patrick Stone, who died unexpectedly at age 57.

Patrick passed away on Sunday, February 12, that year, after an unexpected episode of cardiac arrest. A statement from the coroner's office revealed that his death was the result of lingering heart disease. Sharon's sister, Kelly Stone, shared a now-deleted Instagram post featuring four photos commemorating Patrick.

Kelly wrote, "Pat had a day of joy & passed peacefully."

Patrick is survived by his wife, Tasha Stone, a daughter, Kaylee Stone, and a son, Hunter Stone. The loss of Tasha's husband came only a month and a half after she and Patrick lost their youngest son, River. Tasha revealed the news by saying her entire world has shifted. She commented:

"My heart feels like it's been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River. I just hope that you always stay by my side watching over Hunter, Kaylee and I."

Sister Sharon Cries in Heartbreaking Video after Brother's Death

Sharon also took to Instagram in a now-deleted post after Patrick's death to tell fans that she was mourning the loss. She shared an emotional video addressing the tragedy, along with another post featuring two photos of Patrick.

The first of Sharon's photos showed her with her arm around Patrick. The second was a snapshot of Patrick lying on his back and smiling at the camera over his shoulder. Sharon's video was an emotional clip in which she confirmed her brother's death.

Sharon started the video by saying that the news of Patrick's death was accurate. She continued, saying it was also true that River had passed away shortly before Patrick did.The actress broke out in tears as she thanked her fans for all their well-wishes and said her family greatly appreciates the support. The caption read:

"Godspeed Patrick Joseph Stone. 💔"

The actress started the video looking grief-stricken but composed. She wore her hair loose, and it was clear that she had been crying beforehand. Although she tried her best to remain calm in the face of the family tragedy, it was clear she had a vast amount of emotion and was on the verge of tears.

At the mention of her brother's name, the actress finally couldn't hold her tears back any longer. For the rest of the video, she had to pause every now and again to readjust and keep talking.

By the end of the video, tears flowed down Sharon's cheeks amid the "immeasurable grief" she and her family were enduring.

Sharon Stone Previously Opened up About Her Family’s Health Struggles

The Stone family has endured several personal and health challenges over the years. In a 2017 interview with Extra TV, Sharon spoke about her sister Kelly's battle with lupus and reflected on how the experience strengthened their relationship.

"I have to say I think it's brought us a lot closer, wouldn't you?" Sharon said during the interview. Kelly replied, "I think so... It's amazing that I have a sister who is not afraid to use her voice, and people listen and she loves me so much."

Sharon also opened up about the pregnancy complications and miscarriages she experienced over the years. "I can say that I had three, five-and-a-half-month miscarriages and no one had any answer for me, what's going on, why is this happening to me. So, I think when we go through this as a family, it's devastating that the medical community is not paying the attention that's needed," she said.
