He announced the news close to the third anniversary of his mother, Marilyn Joan Wilson-Moore's death, on February 8, 2023. He said his becoming a father made one of his mother's wildest dreams come true, and he was proud to do it.

The actor admitted that being a father would complete his life in a way that would allow him to feel whole when he entered heaven one day. He later confirmed that he and his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon, would welcome a girl.
