Dana Perino's Husband Peter McMahon Is a Successful Businessman

"The Five" co-host Dana Perino married an English businessman after their random "love at first flight" incident in 1997. The pair have bonded over many things, including their love for dogs and their famous Vizsla, America's Dog.

During a short flight at the end of the summer in 1997, the 26th White House press secretary, Dana Marie Perino, met the softspoken English businessman she credits for her growth as a professional, Peter McMahon. The Brit went on to marry Perino and became a famous family together with their dog Jasper.

McMahon's dog lost his life in unfortunate circumstances, but they adopted another Vizsla, Percy, a few months later — To the public's knowledge, Percy is the third of McMahon's Vizslas. The coveted businessman's first known Vizsla was an instrument behind his arrest in 2007.

Peter McMahon Is an Experienced Businessman

McMahon is a businessman with over forty years of experience in retailing. He has a history of translating global businesses to the audience, instilling the necessary cultural change required by multimillion-dollar corporations. He also has a reputation for resuscitating businesses.

The Englishman has been in CEO and COO positions in global businesses, bearing responsibility for "supply chain, buying, merchandising, store operations, labor relations, information technology, e-commerce, and human resources" departments.

McMahon has worked as the supply chain director for Sainsbury's in Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Northern England. He has also spent six combined years as the supply chain director for Tesco and Walmart in Europe. In 2006, McMahon became the COO of Loblaw Companies LTD, where he remained for roughly eight years.

In October 2013, the Englishman took up a new challenge at Shopko in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He served as the company's president and CEO for four years and four months before going independent as an executive management consultant.

McMahon is seeking new CEO ventures in "forward-thinking companies." The businessman with layers of cosmic experience married twice before getting hitched to Perino; she revealed this during a Hudson Union Society interview on June 9, 2016.

Their marriage has surpassed two decades, and McMahon and his wife will celebrate their 25th anniversary this year. They met in a not-so-romantic setting, but after Perino quickly scanned the Englishman, they forged a relationship for the ages.

McMahon Met Perino on a Flight to Chicago Back in 1997

Perino was on a flight to Chicago when she met her husband. The former White House press secretary and McMahon were the last two people to enter the plane. They were issued tickets 13-A and 13-C, making it possible for them to get social on the flight.

Perino places a bag beneath her feet on airplanes to compensate for her height. She recalled hearing the Brit offer to put her bag in the overhead storage. After a quick scan, she uncovered his exotic accent, good looks, and bare ring finger. They engaged in conversation, and upon the plane's landing, Perino's inner voice said:

"Okay, Lord, I know I asked you to help me find somebody, but he lives in England; he's 18 years older than me; he's been married twice before. Did I mention he lives in England? This cannot possibly be it!"

When they met on August 17, 1997, McMahon was 43 years old, and his potential date was 25. The pair then got married a year later, and the Brit's wife calls their initial meeting "love at first flight" in her book, "And the Good News Is...: Lessons and Advice from the Bright Side."

Perino moved to England nine months after they met on the plane. She lived in England for ten months before moving back to San Diego, California. The Fox News employee who shares the stage with Jesse Watters joked about her stay in England, saying socialism and rainy weather were not her cups of tea.

Peter McMahon Was Once Arrested Because of Their Dog

McMahon and his wife are dog lovers who raised a Vizsla named Jasper together. On October 25, 2016, McMahon's wife released a book about how their Vizsla became a national treasure referred to as America's Dog. He was a part of "The Five's" cast on Fox News Channel (we have also looked into Fox News employee Bill Hemmer's love life here).

McMahon once spent a day behind bars for a Vizsla. The accomplice was not Jasper, but his former Vizsla, Henry. The businessman was arrested for walking his dog without a leash on November 15, 2007, and jailed for his inability to pay the fine — a not-so-hilarious tale that McMahon details in his wife's book about Jasper.

Meanwhile, America's Dog, a celebrity since his birth in 2012, unfortunately succumbed to the symptoms of rapidly-spreading cancer at age 9. Perino announced his demise in an Instagram post in September 2021.
