Your siblings are your first friends, having gone through everything together since the beginning. Siblings share all the highs and lows of growing up, and sometimes, it's hard to imagine ever growing apart when you reach adulthood.

It's often when a sibling gets married that they begin to drift apart because of a change in priorities. A sibling's role in a wedding is to show support during the big day, the same way they're there to show support throughout their sibling's marriage.

A "Big Day" for Everyone

A wedding isn't called your "big day" for no reason – it's the day where you and your spouse-to-be are in the spotlight, and everyone in attendance is focused solely on you two. Family members often take the backseat that day, choosing to be in the audience to witness the start of your special union.

In Utah, however, a family set this idea aside and planned a grand wedding for four siblings. They decided on a quadruple wedding, which ended up being a fun family affair attended by at least a thousand people.

Planning the wedding was a breeze, as the siblings wanted nothing more than for all of them to be happy.

The Grand Wedding Details

Everyone knows that planning a wedding is no joke, with so many details to consider and so many things to put in order. While having four siblings wed on the same day might not have worked for many families, the Fortneys were positive they could pull it off simply because the siblings had always been close to one another.

Sisters Grace, 23, Meagan, 23, Jessica, 19, and their brother Marcus, 21, all exchanged vows at the same church, the St. George Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the same day. Each couple had their own half-hour ceremony, followed by a joint reception at a local ballroom with no less than 1,000 guests.

How the Bold Idea Began

The idea began when Marcus returned from a Mormon mission trip in Mexico. At the time, he was planning his wedding with his longtime girlfriend.

By then, his sister Grace was already engaged, and his two other sisters, Meagan and Jessica, were already thinking about settling down with their significant others.

After Marcus threw in his idea of marrying at the same time, the sisters were all on-board. Although the plan was unusual, they had their parents' full support, and their spouses were open to the idea as well.

Everybody's Happy Ending

Planning the wedding was a breeze, as the siblings wanted nothing more than for all of them to be happy. They let each other pick out the non-negotiables and agreed on many of their wedding details. One of the brides, Grace Fortney Weaver, credited her siblings for making it all possible. She gushed:

"Thankfully, I have wonderful, wonderful sisters and a wonderful brother."

It was because of their easy-going personalities that they were able to plan a wedding worth remembering – all they wanted at the end of the day was for everyone to be happy. And that included their parents who were just as delighted by what transpired.

Having their Parents' Support

Their dad, Kevin Fortney, couldn't help but talk about how great it is to see his children happy. He said: "There are few things that can compare to the fullness of joy that you feel when your children are happy."

Likewise, their mom Marie wanted to ensure that all of her children had a memorable time planning their wedding. She wanted them to experience the excitement of planning a wedding by taking each of her daughters gown shopping individually and planning dinners with all of their in-laws so that everyone could get to know one another.

Setting a Great Example for their Kids

Since the wedding, the four couples have gone on to have children of their own. The Fortney siblings' bond with one another sets a good example for their children of how great it is to have a good relationship with their brothers and sisters.

Every day, their kids grow up seeing their closeness and will one day hear about the stories of how their parents celebrated the most special day of their lives as a strong family unit.
