Carolina Teen with No Bump Finds Out She’s Pregnant 2 Hours before Labor – People Claim She’s Lying
When a teenager woke up early in the morning, she was writhing in pain and went straight to her mother, who hurried her to the hospital. Then she explained her symptoms to a nurse who examined her and the nurse told her something utterly shocking and mind-boggling.
Bri Blanton, from South Carolina, was oblivious to how her life would change most remarkably. She was barely a teenager when she received the biggest surprise—something she had never anticipated or pictured.
It was about 4:30 a.m. on September 8, 2022, when Bri suddenly woke up and couldn't sleep. She experienced shooting pains that doubled in intensity to the point that she couldn't bear them anymore. Not knowing what to do, she rushed to her mother, Jennifer Blackwell.
A Shocking Revelation
Concerned for her daughter's health, Jennifer wasted no time and took her to Spartanburg Medical Centre in South Carolina. There, Bri narrated her symptoms to a nurse who checked her cervix and discovered something mind-blowing. The nurse told the mother-daughter duo:
"[Bri] is dilated and in labor."
The Teenager Was in Disbelief
Bri, who thought she had wet herself when she woke up in pain, had no idea that her water had broken and that she was pregnant and going into labor. Because she had no bump, sickness, or cravings—the young girl couldn't decipher the situation. She recalled:
"When they told me I was pregnant and giving birth I was in complete shock."
She Showed No Symptoms
The South Carolina girl was overwhelmed and kept telling her mom it wasn't possible. Jennifer, a branch manager for a care home agency, recounted that her daughter showed no pregnancy symptoms and had donned a swimsuit even when she was eight months along, with no baby bump.
One particular difference, however, was how everyone supported Bri and adored Oakleigh, while Jennifer, at the time, had feared judgment and unwelcome comments from people about her and her daughter.
The mother said her young girl even took a pregnancy test after eating a heavy meal during the summer, which had a negative result. Bri also went to prom and wore a lovely dress that fit her perfectly, although she was supposed to be five months pregnant then.
Embracing Motherhood
And so, it made no sense to Jennifer how her daughter could continue with her day-to-day activities and enjoy riding, hunting, fishing, and so much more without experiencing changes within her body.
After two hours of labor, Bri gave birth to a baby girl, Oakleigh, at 7:36 a.m. on September 8. The baby weighed 7lbs 40z and had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours alongside her mom before going home to meet Bri's siblings, Mckenzie, 19, and Colton, 8.
The Young Mom's Love for Her Bundle of Joy
Although Bri had been entirely unprepared to become a mother at 18, her motherly instincts didn't take long to kick in. Her incredible experience also aligned with her mom's because years ago, Jennifer embraced motherhood when she welcomed Bri at the tender age of 17.
One particular difference, however, was how everyone supported Bri and adored Oakleigh, while Jennifer, at the time, had feared judgment and unwelcome comments from people about herself and her daughter.
Oakleigh celebrated her fourth month of life on January 8, 2023, and continues to thrive in the care of her mother, grandmother, and loving family. Bri considers herself fortunate and proud to be a mom to Oakleigh, who is always happy, smiling, and enjoys being the center of attention.
