Trig Palin Is Already a Teenager – All We Know about Sarah Palin's Son
Trig Palin is among Sarah Palin's children. After Trig's birth, his mother was constantly surrounded by different conspiracies concerning his existence, but she remained strong for the sake of her family.
Before Sarah took a break from politics, she served as the Governor of Alaska from 2006-2009. In 2008, she became the vice presidential nominee alongside the late presidential candidate Senator John McCain, but they lost the elections to Barack Obama and President Joe Biden.
In 2022, Sarah tried to make her comeback into politics after announcing she was running for the US House seat in Alaska, a position that the late Don Young previously held. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as she expected; she lost the election to Democrat Mary Peltola.

While most people know Sarah for her boldness in the political world, the former Republican vice presidential candidate is a devoted and loving mother to her children. Here's what we know about his youngest child Trig Palin.
Sarah Palin Concealed Her Pregnancy for a Long Time
Sarah discovered she was pregnant with Trig while attending a conference in New Orleans in 2007. The former Alaska governor, who was 43 at the time, revealed she was initially reluctant about wanting another child.
After returning to Alaska, she conducted a test and found out the baby she was carrying had Down syndrome, a genetic condition that affects a child's physical and intellectual development. Scared of public scrutiny, Sarah and her husband chose to keep the pregnancy a secret.

The pair also decided not to tell their older children, as they needed time to get used to the idea that Trig Palin would be born with Down syndrome. It was until she was in her third trimester that Sarah Palin's children and her parents found out she was expecting a child.
Even in her third trimester, Sarah went to great lengths to ensure her son's arrival wouldn't compromise her work. Aside from hiding the pregnancy, she traveled to Texas a month before her due date to deliver an important speech.
Sarah, who knows how to balance motherhood and politics, resumed working three days after Trig's birth. However, the public learned about her son a month after his birth.

Sarah Palin Faced Many Conspiracies after Giving Birth to Trig
Despite Sarah giving reasons why she and her husband chose to hide the pregnancy, so many conspiracies still followed the former governor. Some people claimed Sarah didn't have the child and that her daughter Bristol was Trig's actual mother.
Aside from performing well academically, Trig Palin today is an active teenager involved in different activities, as seen from his mother's Instagram page.
Still, after Trig's birth in 2008, the rumor resurfaced during the presidential campaign despite overwhelming evidence that Trig was Sarah Palin's son. Some still questioned Sarah's birth story and accused the politician of faking her pregnancy.
Despite the constant criticism, throughout the 2008 presidential campaign, the mom of five dismissed the rumors and ignored the speculations surrounding Trig's birth.
Though she admitted that life wasn't too easy for her son, Sarah stated she faced a lot of cyberbullying, with some people spreading information that her son should have never been born.
Sarah Palin and Her Husband Todd Co-parent Trig Together after Divorcing in 2020
After being married for over 30 years, Sarah and her husband, Todd Palin, decided to divorce quietly. Todd, who filed for divorce from Sarah, cited temperament incompatibility and said they found it difficult to live together as a couple.
Todd submitted the paperwork eight days after the couple had celebrated their 31st anniversary. As per the divorce documents, Todd requested joint custody of their youngest child Trig and a fair distribution of their assets.
The divorce didn't sit well with Sarah, and during an interview, she revealed she was devastated by the end of her marriage. In hopes of saving it, she disclosed that she and Todd had tried to go through counseling.
The pair first met in high school and exchanged vows in 1988. They share five children: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig. Even though Sarah and Todd divorced, the pair still spend time together and were present when their daughter Willow gave birth to twins.
Dean Cain, a close friend of the two, admitted that Sarah and Todd are devoted and wonderful parents, and despite their differences, they were still committed to Trig and their other children.
In 2018, a woman named Anne Mulligan, claiming to be Trig's grandmother, filed documents to take custody of Sarah Palin's son.
According to court documents, Mulligan wanted primary physical custody of Trig despite her not being related to the Palins. However, the judge dismissed the case as she lacked substantial proof.
Trig Palin Grew up to Be a Happy and Active Teenager
Even though there were a lot of rumors surrounding Trig's birth, he has grown to be a happy and active child. Since he started going to school, Trig has scored good grades, and in 2022, he received an award for emerging as the best student of the month.
Aside from performing well academically, Trig Palin today is an active teenager involved in different activities, as seen from his mother's Instagram page. She posts photos and videos showcasing various milestones that Trig has achieved over the years.
Even though Saran Palin's son was born with Down Syndrome, the 14-year-old has proven that, indeed, disability is not inability. Other celebrities whose kids were born with Down Syndrome include Chris Perez and Caterina Scorsone.
