Celeb Couples with Huge Age Gaps Who Prove Age Is Just a Number with Love
Celebrities are the best to make statements slamming conventional norms, given their public lives. These celebrity couples with significant age differences have successfully done that through the years, proving age is just a number when it comes to love.
Nowadays, there's a preconceived notion that when a person gets into a relationship with someone much older, there is an ulterior motive. These relationships are often frowned upon and heavily scrutinized, expected not to last.
However, many celebrities have proven age is just a number and huge age gaps are not an obstacle between partners in a relationship. Here are six celebrity couples who've proven just that.
1. Cher + Alexander Edwards (40 years)
Cher has made quite a mark in the music and entertainment industry over the past six decades. She remains an active figure at 76, and fans are always updated with her personal life thanks to her social media accounts.
Cher and Alexander "AE" Edwards, 36, were first spotted out together in November 2022. Since the beginning of their relationship, fans made sure to voice their disapproval of Cher's lover. Many were critical of their 40-year age gap, with some hinting at Edwards' hidden intentions in dating Cher.
Just a month later in December, Cher posted a photo of a supposed engagement ring Edwards had given her. She began wearing the ring frequently and even told the media that their engagement was going smoothly while headed out for dinner in January.
Their latest public appearance was in February 2023, where they attended a pre-Grammy party together. Despite the backlash, Cher refuses to let haters bring her relationship down. In a now-deleted tweet, she declared: "LOVE DOESN'T KNOW MATH, IT SEES."
Edwards is a music executive and the ex-boyfriend of Amber Rose, with whom he shares a son. They dated for three years before ending their relationship in August 2021, when Rose accused the executive of cheating on her with several people.
Although Cher's fans are worried about her new and much-younger lover, she's made it clear through her social media channels that she "wasn't born yesterday" and knows the implications of being in a relationship with a wide age gap. Despite this, she's willing to risk all in the name of love.
2. Lionel Richie + Lisa Parigi (~40 years)
Lionel Richie, 73, is dating a woman at least 40 years his junior. The musician has been in a relationship with Lisa Parigi since 2014, and the couple has been going strong through the years despite their age difference.
Parigi is a model who grew up in Switzerland and is of Swiss, Chinese, and Caribbean descent. In more recent years, she has chosen to focus on her lifestyle blog, "Dream Design Discover," and her own lifestyle brand, "The Estate Collection."
While having children together isn't far-fetched, Richie and Parigi only share a dog. The musician has three children from two previous marriages, adopted daughter Nicole and sons Miles and Sofia.
Parigi has been Richie's plus one to many events worldwide. Thanks to her influential boyfriend, she's met many prominent figures like Pope Francis, King Charles, and Sir Tom Jones, to name a few.
As Richie and Parigi have been together for almost a decade now, many have wondered if the singer would ever pop the question. However, Parigi has made it clear she doesn't need an engagement ring on her finger for her feelings of love to be validated. "What we already have is enough," she said.
Richie once disclosed he had big plans, one of which may be proposing to Parigi. However, they're content with how they've built their relationship and are happy where they are now.
3. Michael Douglas + Catherine Zeta-Jones (25 years)
After first meeting in 1998, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have gone on to enjoying a two-decade-long marriage. They have two children together and are considered one of Hollywood's powerhouse couples.
It was love at first sight for Douglas when he watched Zeta-Jones on "The Mask of Zorro." He immediately asked his publicist to set them up on a date, and the rest is history.

Unfortunately for Douglas, the actress knew him and his reputation as a ladies' man. When they met up at a bar, the last thing Zeta-Jones told him was, "You know, I've heard a lot about you, and I've seen a lot about you, and I think it's time that I say goodnight."
Douglas stopped at nothing to win Zeta-Jones' heart, and it paid off well for him. Two years later, in the year 2000, they welcomed their first child and got married. And in two more years, they welcomed another child.
It hasn't always been smooth sailing for them. In 2013, Douglas and Zeta-Jones separated for a couple of months.

At the time, Douglas' throat cancer recovery and Zeta-Jones' Bipolar II diagnosis took a toll on their marriage. They needed some time apart but were ultimately determined to make things work after, and they reunited the following year.
In recent years, Douglas, 78, and Zeta-Jones, 53, have been open about how they've chosen to live their lives. They've shared snaps of their family gatherings and vacations on social media for their fans to enjoy. It's been a treat seeing how they've bounced back after their challenging split in 2013.
4. Dennis Quaid + Laura Savoie (38 years)
Dennis Quaid, 68, is best known for his roles in "The Parent Trap," "The Big Easy," and "Vantage Point." He was married thrice to fellow actors Meg Ryan and P.J. Soles and real estate agent Kimberly Buffington.
Despite the series of divorces, Quaid never gave up on love. He met Laura Savoie, who is 38 years his junior, at a business event. They began dating in May 2019 and got engaged five months later, in October, while they were on vacation in Oahu, Hawaii.

A couple of months later, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Quaid and Savoie exchanged vows at a seaside wedding in Santa Barbara, California. Quaid is proud to say he has an "incredible relationship" with Savoie, whom he calls "the love of my life."
Their marriage was immediately put to the test during the pandemic quarantine, which wasn't easy for many people. Throughout their time at home, Quaid and Savoie leaned on their shared faith to get them through.
They prayed and opened up about the areas where they needed help, and they claimed it ultimately helped them become more loving and kind towards one another. The couple currently doesn't have children together, but Quaid has three children from his former marriages.

One of their most recent appearances was for the 2022 CMT Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, where the couple was seen sweetly holding hands throughout the event. They also smiled for photos on the event's pink carpet, donning coordinated black outfits.
Quaid wore a black v-neck top and slacks, which he wore with a shiny metallic blazer. Savoie complemented her husband's look with a black jumpsuit that had flared bottoms and a deep v-neckline.
5. Harrison Ford + Calista Flockhart (22 years)
Harrison Ford and his long-time partner Calista Flockhart have been through the highs and lows of life together since 2002, and like many others who were subject to the criticism of fans, Ford and Flockhart proved everyone wrong when they remained in love through the years.
Ford and Flockhart first met at the 59th Golden Globe Awards in 2002. At the time, Ford was 60, while Flockhart was 38. Ford was still married to his second wife, Melissa Mathison, though they had been separated a year prior.
After meeting, Ford and Flockhart dated for eight years until 2010, when they decided to take their relationship to the next level by getting married. Ford's divorce from Mathison was only finalized in 2004, when he and his new love were already steady.

Before settling down with Flockhart, Ford was married twice and had four children. The couple has no biological children together, but Ford happily adopted Flockhart's son, Liam, whom she adopted in 2001.
Through the years, Ford and Flockhart have chosen to keep their relationship private. Despite this, fans have managed to see them in public a couple of times, especially on family dates with their son, Liam.
Both avid fans of flying, the pair often travel together with Ford as the pilot. Flockhart would take their son Liam with them on their trips, and it became a fun bonding activity for all of them through the years.

Unfortunately, Ford hasn't been spared from several plane crashes. In 2015, he crashed his plane on a golf course in Los Angeles, landing him at the hospital at 72. Throughout his recovery, Flockhart remained by his side.
About five months since the crash, Flockhart revealed that Ford had recovered and was back to flying his planes. Instead of feeling fearful of her husband's hobby, she supports him 100%.
In the same way Flockhart has been supportive of her husband, he's also been supportive of her comeback to acting. He credits his wife for doing a great job raising their son for the past 20 years and is happy she decided to go back to work.
Ultimately, the couple hopes they can do a movie together while they're both still able to work. However, they haven't found a project they'd like to star in together.

6. Mick Jagger + Melanie Hamrick (~43 years)
Rock stars are notorious for being girl magnets, and Mick Jagger is no different. As one of the world's greatest, Mick Jagger's dating list has been extensive throughout his career.
However, in recent years, Jagger, 79, has settled down with his one true love—American ballet dancer Melanie Hamrick. They've been dating since 2014 and have a son named Deveraux Octavian Basil.
Aside from his youngest son Deveraux, Jagger has seven other children with different women. Before meeting Hamrick, he was in a long-time relationship with designer L'Wren Scott, who passed away tragically at the age of 49.
Jagger was still with Scott when he met Hamrick at one of his gigs in Tokyo. Jagger asked Hamrick to dinner, but they lost touch after the dinner. It wasn't until after Scott's death that Hamrick reached out to him again as a friend offering support during a tough time.
Those close to Jagger claimed it was Hamrick who started putting a smile on Jagger's face after mourning for Scott. Their relationship has remained solid through the years, and the pair have raised their son Deveraux in several homes (and hotel rooms) to fit their busy schedules, which often include tours.
More than being a couple, Jagger and Hamrick also ventured into working together. Although rock music and ballet don't usually go hand in hand, they produced "Porte Rogue" together, a ballet concert choreographed to The Rolling Stones' songs.
Although Jagger continues to tour the world, he's no longer the self-proclaimed party animal he once was. Hamrick, their son, and their son's nanny travel the world with him, so he no longer spends hours partying after the show. Instead, he spends time with his family.
While many would think this is a drastic change in Jagger's lifestyle, sources close to him revealed he's the happiest ever. His relationship with Hamrick "totally changed" him; there's nothing more he could need.
Many couples with huge age gaps have proven that their love is real, despite all the criticism they receive.
