Rachel Maddow is a sassy, outspoken, and award-winning journalist, TV host, author, and political commentator who offers unique viewpoints on her MSNBC show, using humor, empathy, and research.

She is vocal about her sexuality and has been in a relationship with Susan Mikula since 1999. Although she is the first openly gay news anchor and host of a primetime news show in the United States, they are not legally married because the television host is not interested in a wedding ceremony.

Even though she later apologized for her tearful display on Twitter, Rachel Maddow never stopped sharing news concerning children. She once shared a video on Facebook about children who have cancer.

Maddow is in a loving relationship with Mikula and revealed in November 2020 that she was in quarantine alone. She had gone into quarantine because her partner tested positive for COVID-19 while she tested negative.

She revealed that they thought Mikula would die at some point because of the infection. She added that they had different test results and had to stay apart for two weeks.

During their time apart, she tried to care for her partner, who was getting sicker by the day. However, Mikula later went into recovery mode and was going to get better.

"...I am in love. Susan and I have been together for more than 21 years. It was love at first sight that has never waned. She is the center of my universe."

She referred to Mikula as the planet and herself as the satellite. Maddow remarked that she was lucky to have Mikula in her life as her partner is the one person she would do anything for without hesitation.
