Susan Lucci Celebrates Mom Jeanette’s Heavenly Birthday with Touching Message
Susan Lucci penned a touching birthday message to heaven for her mom, Jeanette Lucci, over the weekend. She appreciated the former OR nurse for sharing her "fabulous gene pool."
Jeanette Lucci would have been 106 on March 19, 2023. Her daughter Susan Lucci wrote in part, "Thank you for all your love and care, for teaching me self-reliance and resilience, for your down-to-earth country wisdom, for being your beautiful and spunky red-head self..."
For her first Mother's Day without her parent in 2022, the "All My Children" star shared a glamorous photo with her mother, wishing her a happy day in heaven. In a previous tribute, she called Pennsylvania native a "survivor and thriver." The actress sadly lost her husband of 53 years last year.
Susan Lucci's Mother, Jeanette Lucci, Passed Away at 104
The mother of the 19-time Emmy-nominated actress was born during World War I and the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1917, growing up in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. She was a registered nurse, obtaining her degree from Fordham University in New York City and later becoming an operating room nurse.
His family remembered him for his "roaring sense of humor" and "larger-than-life personality."
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Susan Lucci saw the matriarch in person for the first time in a year in February 2021. Jeanette died a few months later in a hospice in June 2021
In her mom's social media obituary, Susan wrote that she had gotten word that the centenarian's health had taken a turn for the worse three weeks prior. She was "eternally grateful to God and her wonderful hospice nurses" that she could tell Jeanette in person how much she loved her. On her mother's advanced age, she said:
"I've always mentioned how spunky my mom was — I'm sure that determination really helped her to reach 104!"

PEOPLE reported in March 2022 that Susan's husband, Helmut Huber, had died peacefully in Long Island, New York at 84. His family remembered him for his "roaring sense of humor" and "larger-than-life personality." Born in October 1937, Helmut had been a chef, his wife's manager, and Pine Valley Productions CEO.
Helmut was a gifted sportsman; a motorcycle racer in his youth, a skier, and a golfer. He declined to take up his spot in the Austrian ski team in favor of completing his apprenticeship at a four-star hotel, later graduating at the top of his class at a Swiss culinary school.
