Randi Oakes was one of the many talented actors on the cast of the hit crime drama "CHiPS." Although there were many rumors about conflicts between cast members, the actors always remained professional. By the time the end credits rolled for the last time, they had all made names for themselves in the entertainment industry.

While the show aired, Randi was the only female cast member who made regular appearances. Before she joined the popular TV show, however, Randi had already built a successful career as a model. That said, the modeling industry has always been fickle, and by the time she was 23, she started to look elsewhere for a career.

Although many models try and fail to transition into actors, Randi was almost an instant hit on "CHiPS." She started out small, initially assuming the role of a car thief. She did so well in her first small role that the director decided to give her a permanent position. So, the character of Bonnie Clark was born.

Although Randi started out as a devoted career woman, she soon found life as a mother suited her.

Randi recalled that her arrival on the show wasn't even explained, but it made no difference. Fans adored her, and Randi was enjoying her role immensely. She recalled, "I don't have to contend with bathing suits or high heel running scenes."

These days, Randi has largely given up acting. She also doesn't sport her iconic blonde hairdo anymore, but she's entirely at peace with how her life turned out. Randi is a proud mother and grandmother and spends her days caring for her grandchildren instead of on a set.

Randi left "CHiPS" to start a family. The actress married Gregory Harrison, star of the show "Trapper John M.D." in May 1981, and the two have been happily married ever since. Randi gave up her career so she could focus on her family, and she and Gregory had four children over the years.

After being honorably discharged from the military, Gregory started his acting career.

Randi and Gregory moved to Oregon, where they brought their four kids up. The couple shares three biological daughters, Emma Lee Harrison, born on December 10, 1985, Lily Anne Harrison, whom they welcomed on February 6, 1989, and Kate Harrison, welcomed in 1991. The couple also has one adopted son, Quinn Edgar Harrison.

Although Randi started out as a devoted career woman, she soon found life as a mother suited her. She was devoted to raising her four kids, and in 2022, the retired actress became a grandmother for the very first time. Randi and Gregory's second daughter, Lily, welcomed their first grandchild in 2022 with her husband, Peter Facinelli.

Peter excitedly wrote about his child's birth, "Happy 'Labor' Day ❤️ Sept 5th, 2022." Lily also shared a black-and-white photo of her newborn to mark the new addition to their family, writing:

"You look exactly like the love of my life and have cracked my heart wide open. 💔"

Randi Oakes Gave up Her Career & Iconic Hair for 42 Years with Husband and Private Life

Randi met her husband, Gregory, in 1979, when they were both contestants on the TV game show "Battle of the Network Stars VII." The two were married about a year later, tying the knot on December 21, 1980. Like his wife, Gregory had a highly successful career as an actor.

Before landing his role on "Trapper John M.D.," Gregory was a guest star in the massively popular military drama/comedy "M*A*S*H." Incidentally, Gregory had real-life military experience, having served as a medic in the Army.

After being honorably discharged from the military, Gregory started his acting career. He struggled with substance abuse for a few years but overcame it with the help of his wife. Gregory and Randi have been happy together for over 40 years.
