Ron Howard's Look-Alike Son Reed Turns 36 & Sister Bryce Honors Him with Sweet Tribute

Bryce Dallas Howard dug up a decades-old photo with her brother Reed Howard to mark his 36th birthday yesterday. Even with her then-blond hair, the familial resemblance is striking, with many comparing him to their dad.

"Reed, it has been one of the great joys in my life to watch you grow up," Bryce Dallas Howard wrote, complimenting her brother's business acumen and being a good father and husband. "That's a REALLY strong DNA chain in your family!" one person commented.

"He looks so much like Ron it's almost unbelievable," a second agreed, and a third addressed the director directly with their observation, "Looks like you, Ron Howard."

Bryce laughed and cringed as she explained the "disgusting" Howard naming convention on ABC in 2015. Her parents, Ron and Cheryl Howard named their kids after the place where they were conceived.

For the "Jurassic World" actress, it was the city of Texas; her twin sisters shared their names with a hotel. Reed's middle name required extra thought, as she humorously added:

"My brother, his middle name was Cross after a place we used to live ... that was our road where our house was, my dad would make this joke, 'I didn't want to call him back of the Volvo!'"

The auburn-haired actress found out about the origin of her name from her classmates after Ron shared the story on TV with David Letterman.

"The Da Vinci Code" director announced on Facebook in August 2015 that his son and Ashley Howard said their "I dos" in a "whirlwind of a celebration" at Winvian Farm, Connecticut.
