Australian native Angourie Rice drew her first breath on New Year's Day in 2001, born to writer Kate Rice and director Jeremy Rice. The 23-year-old had appeared in commercials and a few film shorts when she won her first starring role in 2012, portraying Tilly in the 13-minute drama "Transmission."

The short movie was shown at the St. Kilda Film Festival, earning Rice the Best Actress award at only 11 years old. She continued making brief and supporting appearances in films and TV shows, including "These Final Hours," "Walking with Dinosaurs 3D," "The Doctor Blake Mysteries," and "Mako Mermaids."

She became recognized for her role — among many others — as Betty Brant in the Tom Holland "Spiderman" movie series and Marvel's "The Daily Bugle." Earlier this year, she starred opposite Jennifer Garner and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the book-adapted series, "The Last Thing He Told Me," which debuted this month.

Angourie Seems to Be Single and Engrossed in Work

Rice has an active social media presence but primarily dedicates her social accounts to work-related content. At the time of writing, her latest posts on her Instagram profile consisted mainly of snippets from interviews and articles, ongoing projects, and behind-the-scenes photos; no posts indicated a current romantic relationship.

One of Angourie's Roles Involved Dating a Shapeshifting Spirit

Rice portrayed Rhiannon, a teenager who falls for an entity named A that lives in a different body each day in the fantasy drama "Every Day." The film follows a somewhat complex storyline in which A is played by actors of varying demographics (race, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.), none of which are anchors for who A is.

A's varying physical attributes form the crux of the story, as the movie explores the idea of a person not being defined by their physical characteristics. Rhiannon remains in love with A, regardless of the person they present as each day. It adds an inclusive and queer element to the film.

Angourie's 'The Last Thing He Told Me' Character Was Called 'Mean' by Her Co-star

When "The Last Thing He Told Me" premiered earlier this month, Rice's co-star, Garner, highlighted some significant differences between Rice's teenage character, Bailey, and her own adolescent kids (whom she co-parents with Ben Affleck), saying, "The teenager in the story, Bailey, played by the beautiful Angourie Rice, she's a whole other ... she's mean."

Garner added that her kids were "not mean" — at least, not to her. Still, Rice's character presented an intriguing layer of adolescence to explore, as Garner acknowledged how difficult it had become to be a teen nowadays and added, "So that was funny. Just a different layer of teen to deal with."

Rice imagined herself as a University student, delving into Gender and Literature studies if she wasn't acting. Still, while she has put the idea aside for now, it's not off the cards.
