Queen of rock and roll Tina Turner died at 83 years old. The singer's official Instagram page released the sad news. The statement acknowledged Turner's musical contribution to the world, which has left a lasting impact for decades.
It had been a while since Turner had made a public appearance, but at one of her last ones, she was mostly photographed sitting down or getting assistance from her husband, Erwin Bach, and friend Oprah Winfrey.
However, the rock star still had the biggest smile and never let go of her heels, an accessory she had no problem dancing in.
Tina Turner’s Ongoing Health Issues
Turner's cause of death has not been released, but her representative said she died "peacefully after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland."
The star's funeral will be kept private, with only close friends and family attending. Turner's representative also asked that the family be given privacy and clarified that no further media questions about her death would be answered.

In the last few years, Turner has documented her life and revealed many unknown details, specifically some of her health issues. In her memoir, "My Love Story," published in 2018, she opened up about several turns her life has taken since marrying Bach.
For instance, in October 2013, only three months after she and Bach married, she suffered a stroke. Turner remembered waking up and feeling stuck to her bed.
While discovering the stiffness in her feet, she found it difficult to speak and call out for help from her husband. But she did not know that she was suffering a stroke at that moment.

Bach and her doctor took her to the hospital, but the singer could not move her body. She had to be dragged out and helped to sit up properly. Turner ended up spending ten days in the hospital.
In her book, Turner was open about how much she regretted neglecting her body and health. In 1978 she was diagnosed with high blood pressure but did not make much of it since she saw most of her family live with it.
Only in 1985 did the "Proud Mary" singer start taking medication; however, she did not do much to care for her body and admitted to thinking "high" was normal.

But with her busy schedule and her body adjusting to her medication, her body started to react, which affected her performance. Turner quickly realized she could not hit her high notes the same way.
However, the high blood pressure started affecting other parts of her body, mainly her kidneys. Turner's kidneys went from 35% functionality to 5%. She underwent dialysis but needed a kidney transplant which her husband was willing to donate.
However, in 2016, the "I Don't Want To Lose" singer was diagnosed with intestine cancer. She revealed that she had suffered from chronic diarrhea for months but was diagnosed early.

The doctors removed the cancerous parts of her intestines, but healing from that surgery meant her transplant was postponed.
Eventually, she got her husband's kidney, but the repercussions of her stroke brought her vertigo. She started feeling dizzy and extremely sick. "[I] couldn't stand, walk or focus. ... My body was spinning out of control," she wrote.

In addition to all these sicknesses, Turner suffered post-traumatic disorder from her relationship with Ike Turner. Her trauma led her to attempt suicide, and she admitted to experiencing long unhappiness.

Most of the pictures from the event are of Turner sitting or receiving assistance from Bach and Winfrey. Still in her fragile state, Turner made a fashion statement, wearing a long brown sequenced dress with black heeled shoes and her signature hairstyle.
In 2021 the singer announced the release of her documentary. She shared the news on Twitter with a picture of her standing in front of a big-screen TV.

But the last time Turner addressed her fans, she left them with her memorable smile and a great sense of humor.
The Last Time Tina Spoke to her fans
The last time Turner addressed her fans was when she was honored in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She expressed her gratitude with a video of her sitting beside a piano.
At 81, Turner was still in awe of her music and career being recognized as legendary and historical. "If they are still giving me awards at 81, I must have done something right. Yeah, this is mine, only I don't care about you now," she said with a laugh.
The "Simply the Best" singer wore an all-black outfit with minimal makeup, but her brightest accessory was her smile.

For world kidney day, Turner shared an inspirational message with her fans urging them to take care of their bodies and reminding them that kidneys fail without pain, so it is vital to take care of these organs that keep our bodies running.
Turner's infatuation smile, along with the passion she put into her music, will be appreciated by many generations.
