Cody Johnson's Kids Tour with Him – Facts about Their Lives

Highly acclaimed country star Cody Johnson thrived in the industry by maintaining the authentic essence of country music. His creativity comes from his greatest sources of inspiration, including his wife and two beautiful children.

Brandi Johnson was only 14 when she first saw Cody Johnson at a Future Farmers of America event. At that time, the young artist took the stage to perform despite being in a leg cast and using crutches. Little did she know she was looking at the man she would later call her husband.

It took four years until they officially crossed paths at a Huntsville bar. Then with a friend, Cody's eye caught Brandi walking across the dance floor, and he went to meet her to ask for her number, and their love has since flourished.

Brandi Johnson Supported Her Husband's Career

Within a month of their reconnecting, Cody and Brandi were already living under the same roof, and one year later, they were engaged. The couple did not want to waste time, so they tied the knot one year later.

Brandi became Cody's number-one fan and motivation. She believed in his talent and played a pivotal core in the success of his career when she encouraged him to pursue music and embark on a life on the road. She even quit college and was working two jobs to support her husband.

In 2015, Cody and Brandi expanded their family with the birth of their eldest daughter, Clara Mae. Two years later, the couple welcomed another girl, Cori. Since becoming a dad, Cody and Brandi had to adjust their lives to fulfill their duties as parents and ensure their daughters grew up in a loving and safe environment.

Cody Johnson's Kids Grew up on the Road, Joining Their Father's Tours

As toddlers, Cody Johnson's kids would join their father on tour, living on a bus and watching their father as the frontman of the Cody Johnson Band. He said:

"When you're [going to] go on the lead singer's bus, you think you're [going to] see a lot of things, not toys and diapers everywhere; but that's generally what it looks like. Big million-dollar daycare center."

Cody is also excited he can go everywhere with his family because he has gone periods without them. In an Instagram post, he wrote:

"For a lot of years, I was in the van. We went through a couple of vans, me and the guys. You don't see your wife, you don't see your kids... and it's all been worth it, but I'm better with them around."

Growing up watching a father who performs, Cody Johnson's kids became interested in entertainment. As the doting dad shared, his daughters sometimes play with their toy guitars and sing on their microphones. However, he does not want his children to follow in his footsteps just because of him.

Cody Johnson's Kids Know What Hard Work Looks Like

The musician wants his children to find their passion and work towards that, but in the meantime, he wants the girls to see him at work. Cody Johnson's kids know he is a good man who works hard to provide for his family while being a good father and husband.

He hopes this embeds the idea of what a good man is in their heads. As much as he can, Cody raises his kids to value hard work, even when they don't feel like it.

Despite having a busy schedule, he also spends much time with his family. When he's not working, he tries to be present and involved in his daughters' lives and does activities with them, such as feeding cows.

"It's really hard, but it's really worth it to put in the extra effort to be here and to make sure that I'm being a good example here at home for these girls," he said.

Like any other family, Cody and his wife and kids celebrate holidays together. They especially love Christmas and all the beautiful things about the much-awaited time of the year. Since Clara's birth, Cody started a Christmas tradition that his girls would never forget.

After waking up early, he makes the fireplace and watches his daughters tear open their Christmas presents. With his wife, Brandi Johnson, by his side, the proud parents relax and bask in their joy with a cup of coffee.
