The discrete actress did not allow her personal life to eclipse her big break in "American Honey" and does not discuss it in the media, but has opened up about her sexual orientation in relation to her characters.

With One of Sasha Lane's Partners, It Was 'in the Stars!'

After being discovered on a beach in 2015 by director Andrea Arnold, Lane got a crash course into the workings of Hollywood on the set of her first movie, "American Honey."

From her co-star, Riley Keough, the Libra learned she could be herself in the industry. The pair had jetted off to Paris for a Dior fashion show, where the newcomer sat on Keough's lap in the front row.

In 2019, she casually named checked LaBeouf, who is back with his ex Mia Goth, in a magazine feature that implied intimacy without revealing their former relationship, "Shia [LaBeouf] was the one who told me I am a poet."

Lane's daughter, Astrid Cairo, was born just before the lockdown.

In the same interview, she disclosed that she was dating somebody but did not "necessarily want to say who." As for the strength of the connection, she said, "It's in the stars! Another Libra, too, so just as strong. It's pretty major."

Sasha Lane Hopes Her Parents Read Articles to Learn about Her Sexuality

The actress has never officially come out to her parents; she joked that she was "hoping they read enough articles [about her]," but she had told them before when she was dating a woman.

Lane said in 2018 that the subject matter of "The Miseducation of Cameron Post," a film starring Chloë Grace Moretz about conversion therapy, was so close to her heart as she grew up in a Texas household where she and her brother was gay.

While promoting "Conversations with Friends" in 2022, in which she plays a queer character, she said, "The way I love, and whether I'm falling in love with a man or a woman, I think there's just the beauty of love."

Sasha Lane's daughter, Astrid Cairo, was born just before the lockdown brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020. She had already decided to raise her as a single mother. In a feature two years later, she said:

"Aster is such a happy kid, and that's all you could ever ask for as a parent."

At 23, Lane found herself pregnant and realized she couldn't tell her child that she had done everything possible for them or even say, "You've gotta love yourself," if she had not done the work on herself.

On social media, the mother of one honestly portrays what it means to be a single mother, which sometimes includes a big glass of red wine.
