Mia Goth 'Embracing' Her Eyebrows & Fans Love It
Mia Goth's eyebrows have been a topic of discussion since she stepped into the film industry; other celebrities have found inspiration from Mia Goth's eyebrows as the bleached brow trend has come back into style.
Mia Gypsy Mello Da Silva Goth, commonly known as Mia Goth, stepped into the public eye in 2013 after her breakout role in Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac." The English actress attended red carpet events with thin and light eyebrows, and almost ten years later, bleached eyes came back into fashion. And while Hollywood stars brought the trend back because it was in fashion, Mia Goth's eyebrows have always looked the same.
Kendall Jenner rocked a look similar to Mia Goth's eyebrows and bleached her brows for her appearance at the 2022 Met Gala. Her older sister, Kim Kardashian, also had her eyebrows bleached for her feature in Interview magazine. The celebrities to have drawn inspiration from Mia Goth's eyebrows include Dove Cameron, Lizzo, Lily James, and Julia Fox, amongst others.
As a child, Mia Thought Her Eyebrows Were Strange
Goth was born in England on October 25, 1993, to a Brazilian mother and a Canadian father. Her unique beauty led to her signing to a modeling agency when she was 14, appearing in Vogue and Miu Miu advertisements. At 16, she tried acting; she appeared in films and music videos and co-starred alongside big names such as Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson.
In Future Unlimited's music video for "Haunted Love," Goth's eyebrows have their unique, light color; the footage was released eight years ago and was directed by Shia LaBeouf. Maintaining bleached eyebrows was a complicated process, but Goth revealed that her eyebrows were naturally light in color.
Despite their widespread popularity, Goth's eyebrows were not something she always liked about herself, especially as a child. When she was a little girl, she admitted to finding them "strange," but as she grew up, she said she learned to embrace them:
"I realized as I got older that the things that make you different are the things that are special about you. So I'm embracing them."
Fans Love Mia Goth's Eyebrows
Goth's eyebrows were not only being accepted by her but by fans alike. Social media users found confidence in seeing Goth wear her natural eyebrows and for them to do the same. One Twitter user wrote, "Rocking my natural eyebrows in honor of Mia Goth."
Another user expressed their surprise when she learned Goth's eyebrows were naturally light in color and that the actress did not bleach them for a movie role. More and more users showed their support for Goth, praised her "bangin'" eyebrows, and said it was one of their favorite things about her. A user wrote, "Mia Goth makes me feel better about having light, spares eyebrows," and others agreed.
The Filmmakers Don't Make Mia Goth Dye Her Eyebrows
Goth's eyebrows and pale skin have become the face of horror movies; her role in the horror film "X" earned a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and fans were surprised to learn that directors were as also fans of her natural eyebrows and did not require Goth to change her eyebrows for her roles. And much like Goth's eyebrows, she revealed that her beauty routine is also minimal:
"Less is always more in both beauty and fashion."
From red carpet looks to roles in films, Mia Goth's eyebrows have not only been an inspiration in fashion and beauty trends but fans of the actress alike, who admired her confidence in wearing her natural brows.
The actress led a private life despite being a celebrity and did not have a social media presence at the time of writing. Her husband, Shia LaBeouf, announced the birth of their child in an open letter and shared that he and Goth welcomed a daughter, Isabel, earlier in the year.
