Matt Rapphahn, the owner of Long Trail Auto, saw everything that happened with Treat on Monday. Rapphahn's business is located on Route 30, where Treat's accident with another vehicle occurred.

What Happened to Treat Williams?

Rapphahn said that when the accident happened, he saw Treat wearing a helmet and flying through the air. Treat landed a few feet from his motorcycle, and Rapphahn said the wheel of his vehicle was still spinning.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, Rapphahn once again experienced everything. He talked about Treat, saying:

"He was totally alert, answering questions."

The actor was thrown off his motorcycle, and a helicopter then airlifted him to the hospital, where he ultimately took his last breath.

Treat and his wife, Pam Van Sant, had been married for many years when he passed away, and together the couple welcomed two beautiful children. Although they remained relatively private, Treat often featured his family on his social media.

Treat's first child with Van Sant is a boy named Gill. Gill was born in December 1992, making Treat and Van Sant first-time parents. Gill grew up going to red-carpet events with his parents and was comfortable with the relative fame that came with being Treat Williams' son.

Gill's most recent red carpet appearance was when he accompanied his father to a 40th-anniversary screening of "Hair." While Gill's personal life has remained private throughout the years, he followed in his father's acting footsteps.

Gill appeared in a series of short films in 2015 and worked alongside his father in one of them. Treat posted about the experience, saying his life felt perfect when he got to work with his son on a project. By August 2015, Gill had graduated from NYU, and Treat once again posted about the occasion.

After he obtained his degree, Gill went into music and now posts about his music on social media quite regularly. Treat remained proud of his son to the end, often posting about his son or commenting on posts by Gill.

Treat was equally as proud of his daughter, Ellie, who was welcomed into the family in September 1998. Like her brother, being in her father's presence inspired Ellie to pursue a career in Hollywood. In 2015, she posed alongside some costars of "Chicago Fire" for a photo as she was starring in the show.

Ellie graduated from the University of Vermont and then moved to Los Angeles, where her father often visited her. The pair's last visit with each other was in April, when they visited Universal Studios together. Ellie took to Instagram to share photos of their day.

A week before he passed, Treat shared a sweet snap of his daughter and talked about how much he missed her. Days after her father passed away, Ellie shared snaps of her father and talked about the pain she was feeling after losing her father. Rest in peace, Treat Williams. You will be missed.
