Man Tells Wife He Is Filing for Divorce Morning after Their Wedding
When an Australian woman tied the knot with her husband, she had no idea he would suggest getting divorced the next day. Two weeks after her big day, the woman and her husband were officially divorced.
For some people, the decision to get married gets easy when they meet someone they think would make the perfect life partner. They tie the knot with that person, planning to spend the rest of their lives together.

However, sometimes, life doesn't go as planned, and many marriages fall apart a few years or months later. But the woman in today's story never saw it coming when her husband asked for a divorce within 24 hours after they tied the knot.
The new wife, Rachel, narrated her story on the radio show "Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield," hosted by Abbie Chatfield and Rohan Edwards. She revealed why her husband was so quick to call it quits. During the live show featuring the shortest relationships, uploaded on TikTok, netizens learned about Rachel's story first-hand.

At the beginning of the over-one-minute clip captioned, "What's your shortest relationship?" Edwards asked the Sydney-based Rachel about her shortest relationship, to which she replied:
"I was married for not even 24 hours before my husband wanted a divorce."

Upon learning about her hours-long marriage, Edwards asked Rachel what went wrong that day. The woman replied that she went out with her husband the night of their wedding and felt tired upon returning to their hotel room.

Although Rachel knew her husband for a long time and shared a physical relationship with him, things fell apart because of one thing the new bride refused to do. She said:
"Unfortunately, I didn't give him what he wanted."

Rachel explained that she was too tired to do anything after enjoying her wedding festivities, but her husband wanted to sleep with her. Things between the couple quickly went downhill when Rachel refused to do what her husband wanted.
"I was miserable," the woman recalled. The following day, her new husband told her he wanted a divorce. Rachel added that they "couldn't wait" to leave each other and immediately separated.
Upon learning why Rachel's husband refused to spend the rest of his life with her, Edwards and Chatfield were shocked. They couldn't believe someone could leave their wife a few hours after their wedding just because she wasn't in the mood to get intimate with them.

"What a revolting man!" Chatfield said, appalled after hearing Rachel's story. Meanwhile, Edwards said he couldn't "understand" why Rachel's husband got so offended when she was tired. The hosts added that it was okay for people not to feel like getting intimate after their wedding because they spend hours at the wedding, having fun and enjoying their day.
Edwards and Chatfield validated Rachel's feelings, saying most people don't get intimate on their wedding night. Rachel's divorce was finalized two weeks after her husband decided to part ways with her. She never expected things to turn out the way they did.

Commenters were also split on the man's decision to leave Rachel. People shared their experiences from their first nights together after getting married and explained that it was a long and tiring day that did not always end up in intimacy.
One netizen said her husband was tired just from unbuttoning the many buttons on her wedding gown. Another TikTok user remarked that the husband was unfair to leave Rachel, especially when they had already been intimate.
Another commenter added that she and her partner expressed how tired they were on their wedding day and were happy not getting intimate since it was not their first time. But one TikTok user was on the opposite side of the debate and said refusing to sleep with your husband on your wedding days was not a good way to start a marriage.
