'Calm Down with the Editing Pls': Sofia Vergara's Fans Call Her Out for Using a Filter in New Beauty Post

A lighthearted clip of Sofia Vergara filtered with comically large eyes and lips was taken very seriously by a large contingent of her Instagram followers this week.

On Tuesday, Sofia Vergara posted photos and a video of her breakaway. The Spanish caption translates, "On vacation, like everyone else, my hand is a little too much with food, drinks, shopping [face with tears of joy emojis]."

"Who put that bizarre filter on you in the third slide?" a comment with nearly 2000 likes read. In the clip, Vergara's large eyes and lips are supersized. One can see a filter was applied as she touches up her makeup with a brush.

"You're beautiful, but the filter is terrible," another agreed. The cartoonish filter is not applied to the first two images of the post in which her hair blows in the wind as she holds up one of her Toty-branded products.

"Sofia calm down with the editing, pls u have the Latinas' reputation to defend," a fan cautioned. "The filter is supposed to be funny, guys don't you see the amount of laughing emojis she put?" one reacted to the original commenter.

"All of you guys follow her and still don't know her sense of humor," a long-time fan pointed out. "Looks like a friend put a filter on her face for fun," one theorized. The "Hot Pursuit" actress did not react to the blowback.

As news of Vergara and Joe Manganiello's separation broke on Monday after seven years of marriage, the "Modern Family" star was in Italy celebrating her 51st birthday with friends. She has been posting content from the trip, often mentioning her skincare band.

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Manganiello filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences," on Wednesday. The date of their separation was listed as July 2, 2023. They were introduced at the 2014 White House Correspondents dinner

Sofia Vergara and Manganiello got engaged within months of meeting and tied the knot in November 2015 in Palm Beach, Florida. Last year the actress celebrated their anniversary with a carousel of throwback photos from their wedding, captioned, "Love U."

The Vanity Fair Oscar party was the last industry event that the pair were photographed together in March. At the beginning of June, the "True Blood" actor posted about their "absolutely mind-blowing" outing at a 2-Michelin-star restaurant in Tarrytown, New York.
