Staying fit and healthy is undoubtedly no easy feat. Discipline and hard work are some qualities needed to achieve a fit body, especially as people age. However, Katie Holmes maintained her figure well at over 40 years old.
In July 2023, Holmes was spotted strolling New York City in a black spaghetti-strap sports bra and green sweatpants. Her outfit showed her toned arms and abs, which she worked hard to achieve.
Holmes was also barefaced but looked youthful and beautiful. She accessorized with gold necklaces, earrings, dark sunglasses, and a bag. Holmes' sighting sparked curiosity among fans who wanted to know her workout routine.
While looking good isn't bad, Holmes does not want vanity to be the reason she works hard to stay in shape.

Leading an active life comes naturally to the actress, who enjoys moving around. To keep her workouts exciting, she changes her routine every now and then. In a previous interview, where she disclosed her four-times-a-week exercise commitment, Holmes said:
"I like spinning, boxing, and yoga, and sometimes, I'll take a dance class. I have my own spin bike, so [that] I can do it at home. [...] I got into boxing a couple of years ago, and now I take classes at Rumble."
Admittedly, when working out independently, Holmes forgets to do her upper body. Fortunately, boxing targets that area. She also enjoys it more at Rumble because they play great music, making it fun. She also sees boxing as a way to de-stress and remain calm amidst a tiring workday.
Katie Holmes Exercises to Prepare for Roles
While Holmes may not exercise for the sake of it, she does get stuck into doing what is needed in preparation for a role.
Lifting weights is something she "never wanted to do," but in order to give authenticity to her character, Holmes' hair got a pixie cut, and did strength training as she elaborated during an interview:
"I wanted to be authentic to a person who trained in the military. Which means someone who wasn't always paying attention to the mirror and who was in shape not for vanity, but because that's what her job called for."
Katie Holmes Makes Exercising a Group Activity
Holmes sometimes works out with other people as being around others makes her feel more inspired and motivated to go beyond her limits. "I like that sense of community," she said. Her group exercises are usually during classes in SoulCycle.
While Holmes tried to raise her child privately, the media sometimes spotted Suri in public since her childhood. Now a teen, she is focusing on her college studies.
Holmes, who turned 44 in 2022, has displayed beauty and grace several times. She often leaves fans in awe with her red carpet looks during events.
When not busy with her career and physical activities, Holmes is preoccupied with raising her daughter, Suri Cruise, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Unfortunately, the "Maverick" star has been absent from their daughter's life since his split from Holmes.
