Does Marianne Williamson Have a Husband? She Was Once Married and Has a Daughter
Marianne Williamson has made headlines for various reasons in recent years, including a short-lived run for president in 2020 and now a second one for 2024. However, another aspect of her life that has piqued the interest of many is her romantic history.
In a 1992 cover story for LA Times, Marianne Williamson touched briefly on her love life, though she remained quite elusive. As a young woman, she dropped out of college, presumably in the third year of her tuition, and began traveling around the US.
Marianne Williamson took on many jobs; she sang, worked a temporary office job, and once served as a cocktail waitress. She kept her love life active throughout her exploration, but many of her romances ended in heartbreak.

Among her former flames are actor Dwier Brown and producer Howard Koch Jr. Marianne didn't go into detail about those relationships, but she revealed she was once married, and the marriage did not last long.
The aspiring political leader is well-known for describing her supposedly short-lived marriage, stating it lasted less than two minutes. However, she protected her former spouse's identity and has done the same regarding the father of her only child.

Marianne Williamson's Husband: The Self-Help Author Is a Single and Proud Mother
Marianne welcomed a daughter, India Emmanuelle, on May 21, 1990. The mom of one frequently shares updates about India's life and growth on social media. When India celebrated her 30th birthday, Marianne dedicated a heartfelt tribute to her on Facebook.
Alongside a lovely photo of her daughter, Marianne explained she couldn't be with India due to Covid restrictions. However, she was happy India was surrounded by "wonderful people" who showed her much love.
"I remember the day she was born as though it were yesterday, and the awe that I felt when seeing her for the first time is the same awe that I feel today," Marianne wrote, adding that India had always been the light of her life.
Marianne Williamson Recently Became a Grandmother
In October 2020, Marrianne announced that her daughter had gotten engaged. "I asked her if she's on cloud 9, and she said she's on cloud 1000. I'm totally and completely thrilled for her," she wrote, adding that India and her then-soon-to-be husband were a "perfect match."
It's unknown if India and her fiancé have tied the knot yet, but the couple welcomed their first child in May 2023, a daughter they named Elizabeth Sarah Rose. Marianne was thrilled to become a grandmother, revealing her grandchild was Jewish (maternal side) and Scottish.
Along with Elizabeth's parents, family, and friends, they held a baby naming ceremony for the newborn. "After the ceremony, I carried Elizabeth into a room where we had a few minutes alone. Nothing like the birth of a child reminds us of our ancestors as well as our descendants," Marianne shared in a lengthy reflection on Instagram.
Marianne Williamson Running for President in 2024
In 2020, Marianne was one of many political candidates running for president, though she had never held political office. Had she won, she would have been the first female president to hold office in the United States.
The philanthropist also would have been among the few single political leaders to become president, following James Buchanan (who served between 1857 and 1861) and Grover Cleveland, who later married. She lost to former US President Donald Trump in 2020.
In 2023, she announced she'd be running again against President Joe Biden (married to Jill Biden) for the 2024 elections. Joe was former US President Barack Obama's vice president before running and taking office in 2021. His Vice President is Kamala Harris.
